I was driving through Pawnee in rural Sangamon.County over the weekend and saw signs for Jerry Clarke for School Board. Wondered if that was the former HGOP camapign chief. If Jerry was my opponent, I’d be pretty nervous for the OR ton me to drop the last weekend before the election.
The Big 10, or 11, or whatever we’re calling it this year, has been a paper tiger conference for some time. Many schools would have a hard time competing in the Mountain West.
Things out here in Kendall are really-really opening up, seeing places in Oswego at full tilt, (as opposed to the “speakeasy stylings” of open but “sshhh”).
has a “news” story from IPI about House Bill 7, being heard tomorrow. It would aim to consolidate 25% of Illinois’ 852 school districts. It would do so … by creating a 20 member commission. Talk about https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m_MaJDK3VNE
DeKalb city council meeting last night, people giddy over the anticipated return of h.s. football acting as if COVID is over. So not just the usual sloppy mask-slippage and “forgetfulness” by public officials but also the mayor was “inviting” people to take off their masks during public comment. One woman refused. She said, “I’m a biologist.”
Those House co-sponsors for HB7 are quite bipartisan

I think the rims and score board were rigged in the Illinois-Loyola game. Illinois buckets were given to Loyola. Everybody knows it. Why isn’t anyone checking into this? Why isn’t the press covering it?

Speaking of the Women’s tourney, Bradley women lost their first-ever NCAA tourney game to Texas.
And Northwestern women are going to the sweet Sixteen for the first time since 1993. Although women’s hoops at Northwestern has been good for some time that it’s surprised me it’s been that long.
Regarding the Governor’s WCC appointment of a labor supported individual for a business seat…The Governor is wrong. Obviousely he doesn’t understand the historical significance of the business-labor agreement on workers comp. It’s one thing for the Governor and his staff to display their arrogance by making a labor candidate to a business seat. However, THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR LABOR TAKING THE POSITION THEY DID ON A BUSINESS APPOINTMENT. THEY KNOW BETTER. Just another example of labor taking advantage of the one party system in Illinois. Can labor ever be treusted again?

Seems the debate is over who is the best conference no longer includes the B1G. 9 teams made the dance, only Michigan left dancing to the Sweeet 16.
And don’t ever let me hear anyone compare this year’s Illini to 89 and 05 teams, heard some of that Sunday night. They are not even close.

Why isn’t JB demanding the NCAA find 14 points for the Illini?
Are we really going to let the game be stolen?
These results can’t be trusted.
See how silly it sounds?

Third Reading, the Arizona Senate is auditing Maricopa County, after a judge’s limited audit found 3 out of 100 “points” to have been improperly scored, so maybe the Illini should demand an audit of the scoring. Backstory source:
