36 people dying of a preventable disease in our state is not a small thing. get vaccinated. mask up.

Per John Sahly, only about 20,000 of yesterday’s vaccine doses were 1st shots (some may have been single dose J&J, but still…) The PSA’s and sermons aren’t enough: we need incentives (negative and positive) and increased action to make getting the vaccines more convenient. I got my flu shot last winter at a Mariano’s drive-through clinic event.

The vaccination rate could be better - but the situation gets better every day…
Assume you can get 70% of the state vaccinated – at 65,750 a day, it will take 69 days to get to the remaining 4,583,850 willing residents vaxed. That would be around Friday, July 16.

=== I am not making the case that COVID did not play a role, but for many of these it may have just been COVID that was the tipping point, not the entire cause of death.===
They are dead, just the same.
“it may have just been COVID that was the tipping point, not the entire cause of death.”
So, no Covid…

A survey from the American Psychological Association April 21 (https://www.advisory.com/en/daily-briefing/2021/04/21/weight-gain#:~:text=Among%20those%20who%20reported%20undesired,gained%20more%20than%2050%20pounds.) chronicles the damage the pandemic is doing on American health. 61% of the survey respondents reported weight gain of an average of 29 pounds among many other ‘Alarming” findings.
At some point, the health costs of masking and locking up society need to take precedence. Rather than mask up, many people need to start exercising outdoors and plot a course back to a healthy lifestyle.

I didn’t realize it was an either or proposition. I’ve been doing both throughout the pandemic.
