Got city council members sworn in last night. I’m always fascinated to watch the changes in the group dynamic, even when only one or two people get switched out.
My Sox are in first place even though 2/3’s of the starting outfield and half of their power is gone. And they lead the MLB in run differential. Go figure.
It’s stuff like this and Jan. 6 that makes me totally indifferent to all the whining from the GOP about Dems drawing IL maps without their input whereas in the past I had been a fair maps sympathizer.
Was in St Louis this weekend (catching the Keith Haring exhibit at the Chess Hall of Fame) and I have to say I recommend the exhibit and I was impressed with the mask usage in the neighborhood.
Received a robocall survey the other day about the governors race. It was for a woman, it asked if I had ever heard of Susan Fry, at least I think that was the name.
Blackhawks ended their season last night by losing in OT after blowing a 4-2 3rd period lead and failing to convert on the 4-minute power play to end the 3rd and OT. Sums up the lackluster season. Here’s hoping Dach and Toews can come back strong and reinvigorate them next year.

“blowing a 4-2 3rd period lead”
It was nerve wracking watching the Hawks mishandle the puck in their own end and lose faceoffs. Eddie Olczyk is a gem of an analyst, a Chicago guy by birth. He called a goal before it happened yesterday or the other day, off a set faceoff play—very Steve Stone like. I also heard Foley make the controversial comment last night about the pandemic lockdown yesterday, for which he soon apologized.

Did anyone else just witness two brief power blips (about 2-3 seconds each) in the Capital Complex within the past 5 minutes? Or was it just my building?

I heard a very pretty birdsong this morning. Wish I knew what it was.

There is an app that identifies birds by their song. Don’t know how good it is but there is one.

Are any other places in Illinois having partisan redistricting drama at the local level the way McLean County’s board is?
