Mr. T is back with another forceful message for his native Illinois: Get vaccinated! While about 40% of Illinoisans are fully vaccinated, those numbers are lower among minorities and in some areas like Alexander County, home to Cairo in far Southern Illinois, less than 12% of people are vaccinated. His message last year was to wear a mask. This year, it’s: “From Chicago to Cairo, I’m asking everybody to get fully vaccinated. I pity the fool who don’t get fully vaccinated!”
Yeah, but they were doing horrible there. The big NBC news is that 25,400 doses were administered on Friday, a few days after the announcement. Their population is slightly smaller than Illinois, but we’re averaging 66K per day.
I mean, maybe it would work, but they appear to be just using a gimmick to cover for the fact that they’re failing badly overall.
It was amusing, grabbed your attention. Yeah, a bit nostalgic for us older folks but it doesn’t come across as a lecture. And if it moves the numbers a bit, good.
I like Mr. T and I like this ad. I do not understand however why this is a Comptroller Mendoza issue for PSA. Seems a little out of her professional wheelhouse.

I have to ask because I’m old enough to remember the name of the tv show was “The A Team” — how many people under 40 knows who he is?

Four words: Eye of the Tiger.

Forget about TV ads like this. Try a lottery like Ohio to boost vaccinations.
- Oswego Willy - Thursday, May 20, 21 @ 1:59 pm:
It’s a B+
Anytime, now, we all can highlight to the stragglers the need to get vaccinated, the better.
The “Kay-Ro” is choice cut. Getting it seen and talked about will help.

I’m with pipersls. NBC News is reporting Ohio sees a boost after announcing lottery following weeks of decline.

He looks old (I guess I do too). but he still delivers the ‘pity the fool’ line pretty good.
