Anti-Blagojevich mailer wins Pollie
Friday, May 28, 2021 - Posted by Rich Miller * The Strategy Group recently won a Bronze Pollie Award for this mailer for Sen. Meg Loughran Cappel’s 2020 campaign called “Blago’s Buddy.” We’ve talked about this Tom McCullagh guy a few times (but I missed this one), so I thought you’d like to see it…

The Senate Republicans should have had a mailer ready with Cappel next to a young Blago, both on puppet strings being pulled by Pete Giangreco. He worked on Blago’s initial Governor’s race per ballotpedia, although for some reason it’s not on Strategy Group’s website….

I didn’t think this was that exceptional until I realized it was a 4 sided mail piece.

wow. kudos to strategy group. must have been hard to pull that one out. A Republican running in a dem district who courted Blago’s endorsement in the 2020 IL Trump bloodbath. Had Meg not paid that hefty retainer, who knows what could have happened.

When I saw the tiny photos of the mailer on my phone I thought in the second photo Cappel was talking to someone who was wearing a tricorne hat and some sort of overcoat. My first thought was “wow Meg really supports ‘Merica!”

Is this the Pete Giangreco Strategy Group? If so, ironic his firm won an award for using Blago when he was also a Blagojevich campaign spokesperson for a time.

well, the before was public, so it’s not like a lawyer who used something privileged from one client to help another client, but it is ironic.

Where’s Milan Petrovic? As Blago’s top fundraiser, Petrovic certainly knows the ins and outs of raising cash for campaigns.
Perhaps Petrovic can offer a few tips… like never take a picture with Blago.
