Bailey produces a rifled twist on the Bost toss

My Thoughts on the Pork-filled Illinois Democrat Budget
We made our first Tik Tok video to deliver an important message about the pork-filled Democrat budget that increases spending, increases taxes, and makes it harder for Illinoisans to invest, live, work and stay in Illinois. It’s time to turn things around. I support a zero-based budget where every department makes a case for every dollar spent to provide accountability. I also support identifying and eliminating unfunded mandates that increase property taxes and make it harder for working families. As your next Governor, we will get it done. #standingwithyouin2022

Those pages are blank. I imagine he just took them from the multi-million dollar agribusiness operation he runs and they’re going to be included as a business expense when he files this years tax return.

Wow! Give him a “Razzie Award” for cliche Republican Political Performance Art.

Nothing like shooting a can of explosive Tannerite underneath 3,800 pages of blank paper with an AR-15 to court the suburban mom vote.

Didn’t Rauner already try that?

Cute, but would of been better to try to shoot through that many pages.

- Mason born - Wednesday, Jun 9, 21 @ 8:18 am:
Tossing the thing into a manure spreader might have made more sense and avoided all the gun crap. If he was determined to “blow it up” he should of took the time to hide the tannerite inside the paper. Looks weak having reams of blank paper floating down.
If you’re going to do a “More Cowbell” thing at least put some effort in, lazy.

Why would they want do that? Part of what they imagine themselves to be doing here is intimidating liberals. And I think it works. Liberal America is absolutely under the illusion that the American right knows how to use all the guns and gear it has. Meanwhile when I’m at the range 90% of what I see and hear is mag dumping. I guess everyone’s got money to burn throwing ammo away, or maybe they’re planning to be deployed to an American Fallujah in 2025.

Hi I’m Darren Bailey.
Friends, this budget don’t make no sense.

If it don’t make sense, I shoot it up.
I can do for your communities what i did for this budget.

There are two things I truly love about this;
This does not remotely expand the voters who can potentially vote for him, it only reinforces the small group of folks he has….
… Bailey does t come off at all competent or rational, but carnival barker like and gimmicky, again not expanding bud voter universe.
I think it’s a home run, and a long term loser of an idea… in Illinois.

He was shooting at a package of Tannerite under the papers. If you look before he fires you can see a little orange package. That’s why all the paper went up. I have no idea how far back he was or even if he squeezed off the rnd to comment on his marksmanship.

The Republican party really like to win Primaries. It is their favorite. They like it even more than winning general elections. Just ask Sen. Bailey.
- Candy Dogood - Wednesday, Jun 9, 21 @ 9:37 am:
This begs the question; does Senator Bailey understand the budget process? These provisions have literally been worked on for months. He was (supposed to be) in committee meetings where budget specifics were discussed. There was literally a speech about the budget. How many pages does he think the budget should be?
- The Doc - Wednesday, Jun 9, 21 @ 9:39 am:
==This does not remotely expand the voters who can potentially vote for him, it only reinforces the small group of folks he has….==

Hey now. He does not represent the Republican party any more than Bernie Sanders represents the Democratic party. You’ve got extreme fringes on both sides and a lot of people in between (on both sides) who just wish we could get back to the days where we were civil to each other.

The extreme fringe you identify on one side thinks everybody should have healthcare and aligns with center-left parties across the world. The extreme fringe on the other side uses semi automatic weapons to explode budget documents, is actually in power in large swaths of this country, and is far to the right of the right wing parties in peer countries across the globe.

According to Steve McClure on the Bishop show next week they are voting on some cleanup wording on the budget. Wonder if that means Bailey will come back a shoot that paperwork too? Seems like a Ted Nugent type of stunt to me.
- SWIL_Voter - Wednesday, Jun 9, 21 @ 10:38 am:
At this point I’ve seen lots of these kinds of videos of lunatic right wingers shooting things for campaign ads, and this one really misses the mark. Lacks the dark threatening aura, isnt very exciting or engaging, didn’t even seem to blow up most of the papers, and it’s hard to tell what his gripe even is. He wasn’t allowed to read the budget? Ok

That’s an excellent point. Sadly, based on his position, he does represent the Republican party. What I should have said is that he is not typical of a many Republicans who would like to see the rhetoric on both sides turned down.

Huh. Cite please.
51% of Republicans say Trump is not responsible for the insurrection, as an example… or 53% of Republicans believe Trump, their party’s nominee, is the “true president” now.
Respectfully… Are ya sure you have a grasp of what a Republican is in 2021?
- 47th Ward - Wednesday, Jun 9, 21 @ 11:03 am:
This is life imitating art.
“You want the solution to inflation? Hi, friends. Marshall Lucky here for New Deal Used Cars, where we’re lowering inflation not only by fighting high prices, not only by murdering high prices, but by blowing the living (deleted) out of high prices. Yes sir. Here’s an example. It’s a 1972 Cadillac Coupe DeVille, for sixty-two ninety-nine. That price is too high. Yes sir, here’s another one. It’s a Lincoln Continental, Mark IV, 1973. It’s loaded. It’s got air conditioning. It’s got a stereo. It’s got white-wall radial tires. It’s got power steering, power brakes, power seats, power windows. And a price that is just too high.”
For my money, Used Cars remains one of the best movies about politicians ever made.

- Pundent - Wednesday, Jun 9, 21 @ 11:15 am:

There is no “both sides” argument here. It is only used to minimize or dismiss attempts to overthrow our democracy.

I just looked up that Reuters poll and I stand corrected. OW, you are exactly right. It’s clear that I no longer have a grasp of what a Republican is in 2021. My comments were based on what I hoped was still true and not on any specific evidence. What the heck is going on in our country?

Thanks, OW. For a long time I thought you were just being too harsh on Republicans with your posts, but I get it now. When the majority of a party adopts the ideas of its fringe, then it is no longer the same party.

===For a long time I thought you were just being too harsh on Republicans with your posts, but I get it now.===
This I really appreciate. There are real reasons to my own madness, one is for a party and party leaders to come to grips as to why things are as they are… and it’s not just maps, demographics or geography… the ownership of candidate recruiting, big tent thinking, and statewide overall appeal can be a function the GOP can change all on its own.
Yes. Please. Keep the faith.

For an individual using the product for non-sporting related activities a federal explosives manufacturing permit is required under many conditions.

removing obstacles such as trees or rocks during construction, theatrical special effects, and for demonstration or product testing purposes.

Bailey’s spent the last year being “the people’s champion” against Pritzker’s pandemic restrictions. Along with his lawyer, Tom DeVore, they went hunting for people who would be willing to file a lawsuit against the Governor.
