* I have a couple of errands to run and then I’ll be interviewing the governor. You can post any suggested questions here. I’ll scan through them at about 12:45.

  1. - Oswego Willy - Wednesday, Jul 21, 21 @ 11:49 am:

Higher education and your announcement about free college for families making less than a certain amount, what’s your commitment going forward for the institutions, both junior colleges and state universities?

  2. - Just Me 2 - Wednesday, Jul 21, 21 @ 11:51 am:

If you can so easily break your very forceful promise to veto a map written by politicians, how can we trust any of your other promises?

  3. - Just Me 2 - Wednesday, Jul 21, 21 @ 11:52 am:

Do you wish your tax increase amendment had passed? Are your going to try it again?

  4. - Hieronymus - Wednesday, Jul 21, 21 @ 11:55 am:

What are your administration’s plans to restore the Illinois State Museum to its former national (and international) standing, prior to its almost total destruction under the previous administration?

  5. - Pot calling kettle - Wednesday, Jul 21, 21 @ 11:55 am:

Over two years into your term, there are still unfilled oversight board and other positions. Do you feel your administration’s vetting process for appointments is taking too long, and, if so, what do you plan to do to speed up the process?

  6. - Quizzical - Wednesday, Jul 21, 21 @ 11:55 am:

Do you have any specific plans to address COVID hotspots or outbreaks that may occur due to vaccine denialism or large social events like lollapalooza?

  7. - northsider (the original) - Wednesday, Jul 21, 21 @ 11:58 am:

Why not have the Director of Insurance require health insurance companies to temporarily deeply discount premiums for the vaccinated. This would encourage employers that provide health insurance to require their employees get jabbed.

  8. - Suburbs - Wednesday, Jul 21, 21 @ 12:06 pm:

How large will the ad/mail buy be for Bailey in the GOP primary?

  9. - Sox 59 - Wednesday, Jul 21, 21 @ 12:15 pm:

For the first time in almost 25 years illinois received a bond upgrade. What role did the failure of the graduated income tax proposal play in that upgrade?

  10. - Downstate Guy - Wednesday, Jul 21, 21 @ 12:18 pm:

Today is National #NoPetStorePuppy Day. When will the Gov sign HB 1711 so puppy mill puppies are never sold in Illinois again?

  11. - Oswego Willy - Wednesday, Jul 21, 21 @ 12:19 pm:

=== What role did the failure of the graduated income tax proposal play in that upgrade?===

Isn’t that a question for the bond houses, they make decisions on, allegedly, certain criteria.

If it was up to *any* governor, they’d have great ratings.

  12. - unclesam - Wednesday, Jul 21, 21 @ 12:23 pm:

Do you plan to extend your COVID executive orders this Friday, or do you think Illinois has progressed enough to no longer be under the emergency orders?

  13. - The Captain - Wednesday, Jul 21, 21 @ 12:25 pm:

“Governor, we’re not three years into your administration, at what point do you intend to release and implement your plan to invade and conquer Missouri?”

  14. - Blue Dog - Wednesday, Jul 21, 21 @ 12:26 pm:

What’s the holdup on the signature for liscence plate fees?

  15. - Grandson of Man - Wednesday, Jul 21, 21 @ 12:27 pm:

What lessons did you learn from the Fair Tax campaign that you will apply to your re-election campaign?

  16. - Sox 59 - Wednesday, Jul 21, 21 @ 12:27 pm:

Didn’t ask if it was “up to him”. He’s a billionaire businessman. One of the interests the family has is in the markets. More then a fair question.

  17. - Joliet Joe - Wednesday, Jul 21, 21 @ 12:28 pm:

Is he at all concerned about the continuing migration of people from Illinois? If he is concerned, how does he propose to try to reverse or at least stem that trend?

  18. - Oswego Willy - Wednesday, Jul 21, 21 @ 12:32 pm:

    You asked…

=== What role did the failure of the graduated income tax proposal play in that upgrade?===

The answer is… that’s up to the bond houses, not me, and if they figured in the constitution and Illinois history to paying bonds *and* the constitution, it’s baffling why Illinois is so low.

    ===the family has===

So it’s not a gubernatorial question. Got it.

  19. - SouthSide Markie - Wednesday, Jul 21, 21 @ 12:33 pm:

Excepting the handling of Quincy, what is the one thing you wish you could have done differently?

  20. - Rabid - Wednesday, Jul 21, 21 @ 12:34 pm:

Are you keeping the same election team

  21. - Consultant101 - Wednesday, Jul 21, 21 @ 12:36 pm:

Question: Earlier this month, the CDC came out with recommendations for K-12 schools to return to full in-person learning with only a “Strong recommendation” for mask wearing. Is the State looking at mandating masks for schools K-12 given the status of the Delta variant?

  22. - Al - Wednesday, Jul 21, 21 @ 12:44 pm:

In 2009 the National Transportation Safety Board recommended lowering the Blood Alcohol Content to .05% from .08%. Do you see movement in the General Assembly on this issue and what is your administration’s position?

  23. - Precinct Captain - Wednesday, Jul 21, 21 @ 12:45 pm:

What’s the biggest strength Lt. Gov. Stratton brings to your administration and what plans do you have for her role in a second term?

Do you plan to run for president in 2028?

  24. - OneMan - Wednesday, Jul 21, 21 @ 12:54 pm:

How aggressively should the state pursue those who committed unemployment fraud? Do you anticipate allocating additional resources to look into it?

  25. - Observer - Wednesday, Jul 21, 21 @ 12:57 pm:

When will services for the developmentally disabled be addressed?

From the Ligas Implementation Plan, Exhibit A, 5/3/19.
“PUNS selections will be tailored such that by the FY2025 selection,
no individual will wait on PUNS for over 60 months. For individuals
who are added to the PUNS list before their 18th birthday, the 60-
month period will begin when the individual turns 18.” *Please note
that the individual must also be in the “Seeking Services” category.

Waiting list is over 20,000 individuals. Disgraceful.

  26. - Grow - Wednesday, Jul 21, 21 @ 1:00 pm:

Will you support an amendment to allow homegrow for marijuana?

  27. - Anyone Remember - Wednesday, Jul 21, 21 @ 1:15 pm:

===Is he at all concerned about the continuing migration of people from Illinois? If he is concerned, how does he propose to try to reverse or at least stem that trend?===

Since the population loss is outside Metro Chicagoland, perhaps rural broadband internet?

  28. - Andersonville 1975 - Wednesday, Jul 21, 21 @ 1:20 pm:

What is your plan to improve school funding from the state and ultimately tackling property tax reform in Illinois?

  29. - Ron Burgundy - Wednesday, Jul 21, 21 @ 1:28 pm:

-Why not have the Director of Insurance require health insurance companies to temporarily deeply discount premiums for the vaccinated.-

Keep in mind DOI only has jurisdiction over maybe a quarter to a third of the health insurance market in this state. Rest is medicare/medicaid through other agencies with federal oversight, or employer provided and under the jurisdiction of the US DOL.

  30. - Pundent - Wednesday, Jul 21, 21 @ 1:37 pm:

We’re increasingly seeing more rhetoric that suggests there are two very different constituents in this state. The metro Chicago area which has been fairly supportive of your efforts and downstate Illinois which has been very vocal in its opposition. How will you bridge this gap and ideology in your second term?

  31. - Suburban Dad - Wednesday, Jul 21, 21 @ 1:40 pm:

Illinois has the second highest property taxes nationwide. What are your plans for addressing this? What are your thoughts on a property tax freeze?

  32. - Rich Miller - Wednesday, Jul 21, 21 @ 1:52 pm:

Thanks. Y’all posted some good ones. Unfortunately, my noon appointment went longer than expected and I arrived one minute late to the interview, so there was no time to read them. I’m sorry. We’ll try this again when scheduling isn’t so tight.

  33. - Cool Papa Bell - Wednesday, Jul 21, 21 @ 2:28 pm:

I’m curious to see if Pritzker will get a Pfizer booster shot after receiving the J&J vaccine earlier this year.

  34. - 17% Solution - Wednesday, Jul 21, 21 @ 5:33 pm:

Do you support Congressman Danny Davis’ effort to stop states from taking foster children’s social security and veteran funds?

    https://www.themarshallproject.org/2021/04/22/foster-care-agencies-take-thousands-of-dollars-owed-to-kids-most-children-have-no-idea
