* I have a couple of errands to run and then I’ll be interviewing the governor. You can post any suggested questions here. I’ll scan through them at about 12:45.
Higher education and your announcement about free college for families making less than a certain amount, what’s your commitment going forward for the institutions, both junior colleges and state universities?
What are your administration’s plans to restore the Illinois State Museum to its former national (and international) standing, prior to its almost total destruction under the previous administration?
Over two years into your term, there are still unfilled oversight board and other positions. Do you feel your administration’s vetting process for appointments is taking too long, and, if so, what do you plan to do to speed up the process?
Do you have any specific plans to address COVID hotspots or outbreaks that may occur due to vaccine denialism or large social events like lollapalooza?
Why not have the Director of Insurance require health insurance companies to temporarily deeply discount premiums for the vaccinated. This would encourage employers that provide health insurance to require their employees get jabbed.
For the first time in almost 25 years illinois received a bond upgrade. What role did the failure of the graduated income tax proposal play in that upgrade?
Do you plan to extend your COVID executive orders this Friday, or do you think Illinois has progressed enough to no longer be under the emergency orders?
“Governor, we’re not three years into your administration, at what point do you intend to release and implement your plan to invade and conquer Missouri?”
Is he at all concerned about the continuing migration of people from Illinois? If he is concerned, how does he propose to try to reverse or at least stem that trend?
=== What role did the failure of the graduated income tax proposal play in that upgrade?===
The answer is… that’s up to the bond houses, not me, and if they figured in the constitution and Illinois history to paying bonds *and* the constitution, it’s baffling why Illinois is so low.
Question: Earlier this month, the CDC came out with recommendations for K-12 schools to return to full in-person learning with only a “Strong recommendation” for mask wearing. Is the State looking at mandating masks for schools K-12 given the status of the Delta variant?
In 2009 the National Transportation Safety Board recommended lowering the Blood Alcohol Content to .05% from .08%. Do you see movement in the General Assembly on this issue and what is your administration’s position?
When will services for the developmentally disabled be addressed?
From the Ligas Implementation Plan, Exhibit A, 5/3/19.
“PUNS selections will be tailored such that by the FY2025 selection,
no individual will wait on PUNS for over 60 months. For individuals
who are added to the PUNS list before their 18th birthday, the 60-
month period will begin when the individual turns 18.” *Please note
that the individual must also be in the “Seeking Services” category.
Waiting list is over 20,000 individuals. Disgraceful.
===Is he at all concerned about the continuing migration of people from Illinois? If he is concerned, how does he propose to try to reverse or at least stem that trend?===
Since the population loss is outside Metro Chicagoland, perhaps rural broadband internet?
-Why not have the Director of Insurance require health insurance companies to temporarily deeply discount premiums for the vaccinated.-
Keep in mind DOI only has jurisdiction over maybe a quarter to a third of the health insurance market in this state. Rest is medicare/medicaid through other agencies with federal oversight, or employer provided and under the jurisdiction of the US DOL.
We’re increasingly seeing more rhetoric that suggests there are two very different constituents in this state. The metro Chicago area which has been fairly supportive of your efforts and downstate Illinois which has been very vocal in its opposition. How will you bridge this gap and ideology in your second term?
Thanks. Y’all posted some good ones. Unfortunately, my noon appointment went longer than expected and I arrived one minute late to the interview, so there was no time to read them. I’m sorry. We’ll try this again when scheduling isn’t so tight.

Isn’t that a question for the bond houses, they make decisions on, allegedly, certain criteria.
If it was up to *any* governor, they’d have great ratings.
