Windy and wet up here in Chicagoland…

  2. - Keyrock - Monday, Oct 25, 21 @ 9:05 am:

Well, it’s still dry inside here. And I think the patio furniture didn’t blow away.

  3. - Asteroid of Caution - Monday, Oct 25, 21 @ 9:06 am:

How ’bout dem Arlington Heights Bears?

  4. - TJ - Monday, Oct 25, 21 @ 9:07 am:

I’m now in favor of labor shortages for all pro sports except the NBA.

  5. - Oswego Willy - Monday, Oct 25, 21 @ 9:07 am:

    Bear down, Chicago Bears
Make every play clear the way to misery
    Bear down, Chicago Bears
Show no fight with delight embarrassingly
We’ll never forget the way you thrill opponents
    With your bonehead moments
    Bear down, Chicago Bears
And let ‘em know why you’re playing like clowns
There’s no pride or joy ya only annoy
    Chicago Bears, bear down

  6. - Cheryl44 - Monday, Oct 25, 21 @ 9:14 am:

I’m not a football fan so I usually don’t talk about it. But my goodness, the Bears stink this year.

  7. - Pundent - Monday, Oct 25, 21 @ 9:19 am:

Well on a positive note, the Bulls look like they’ve finally put together a team that can compete. Although two out of three games against the Pistons can help anyone’s record.

  8. - Flyin' Elvis'-Utah Chapter - Monday, Oct 25, 21 @ 9:23 am:

If Nagy is still employed by Wednesday it will be further proof ownership thinks Bear’s fans are nothing but gullible ATMs.

  9. - NonAFSCMEStateEmployeeFromChatham - Monday, Oct 25, 21 @ 9:29 am:

If only the Bears were inspired by the Illini Miracle in Happy Valley Saturday.

  10. - Annonin' - Monday, Oct 25, 21 @ 9:29 am:

Mr/Ms OW already fired up. My best impression of yesterday is it might be time to start talk of another NFL franchise in Chicago. If NYC and LA can handle…why Chicago?

  11. - hisgirlfriday - Monday, Oct 25, 21 @ 9:40 am:

Kind of felt like the awful Bears and Blackhawks performances on Sunday were inevitable after getting that glorious Illini upset on Saturday.

  12. - oifredleg - Monday, Oct 25, 21 @ 9:42 am:

The Blackhawks are playing down to the 2003-2004 season.

  13. - Oswego Willy - Monday, Oct 25, 21 @ 9:43 am:

    - Annonin’ -

As a usual opponent of a second franchise, after these few weeks, maybe some competition in the 3rd largest media market might make the Bears franchise less apathetic? Couldn’t hurt.

  14. - Captain Obvious - Monday, Oct 25, 21 @ 9:43 am:

It would appear that yet another quarterback has assumed an ownership interest in the Chicago Bears. That ownership group is getting pretty big.

  15. - Amalia - Monday, Oct 25, 21 @ 9:46 am:

OW, classic. singing it out loud for my husband. thank you.

  16. - Sayitaintso - Monday, Oct 25, 21 @ 9:51 am:

Cheryl44. If all postings could be so succinct

  17. - Highland, IL - Monday, Oct 25, 21 @ 9:52 am:

Buying my popcorn for Nov. 5th court case DeVore has filed. Our parents from in the are getting fired up. They act like they’ve already won.

  18. - Oswego Willy - Monday, Oct 25, 21 @ 10:02 am:

    - Amalia -

I was “trying to capture the spirit of the thing”. Thanks.

The Bulls are super exciting to watch, how they will fare in a long season, who knows, but they are going to give everyone something to watch this winter.

  19. - MisterJayEm - Monday, Oct 25, 21 @ 10:06 am:

“OW, classic. singing it out loud for my husband. thank you.”

    Same, but to MrsJM.

  20. - Grandson of Man - Monday, Oct 25, 21 @ 10:10 am:

The Bears and Hawks need major shake-ups, but with the Bears it starts with ownership, and they ain’t going anywhere.

  21. - NonAFSCMEStateEmployeeFromChatham - Monday, Oct 25, 21 @ 10:18 am:

I wonder if the percentage of mask wearers in Soldier Field on Halloween will significantly increase. Not just people thinking that maybe the mask mandate isn’t a bad idea. Or Halloween in general. More like the masks of the paper sack with cutouts variety.

  22. - Amalia - Monday, Oct 25, 21 @ 10:44 am:

The Bears loss stings even more when you remember that last year the Bears beat the Bucs. wow.

  23. - thisjustinagain - Monday, Oct 25, 21 @ 10:48 am:

John Wayne from “The Longest Day” –”Wind and rain, wind and rain”. Still rainy/windy in South suburb of Chicago this minute.
OW for the super-win with his Bears ditty.
All I can add is: “The Bears are who we thought they were”
    #FireNagy, #FirePace.

  24. - Electric Mayhem - Monday, Oct 25, 21 @ 10:56 am:

“ownership thinks Bear’s fans are nothing but gullible ATMs.”

Which owners? The McCaskeys or Aaron Rodgers?

  25. - thechampaignlife - Monday, Oct 25, 21 @ 11:24 am:

Rich, I am sorry to hear about your Uncle Denny.

  26. - thechampaignlife - Monday, Oct 25, 21 @ 11:25 am:

===Buying my popcorn for Nov. 5th court case DeVore has filed===

Make sure to buy it from your local scout troop.

  27. - Dotnonymous - Monday, Oct 25, 21 @ 12:20 pm:

Sorry to hear of your Uncle’s death…one of a dying breed…for sure.

  28. - Amalia - Monday, Oct 25, 21 @ 12:47 pm:

thanks for the reminder, thechampaignlife. Rich, so very sorry for your loss of your Uncle Denny. great post from you about him. peace.

  29. - Proud Sucker - Monday, Oct 25, 21 @ 3:40 pm:

“The Blackhawks are playing down to the 2003-2004 season.”

Even better. They now hold the record for most minutes without a lead to start a season. For 365 minutes played thus far, they have been tied or were behind. So, there’s that.
