Found I know someone who refused to get a vaccine and is now so sick he can’t walk to the bathroom without help. When I asked his wife (who is also sick but not as bad) why he refused the answer I got was, “He just thought the Democrats wanted to control him and he didn’t want to let them win.”

Got my Moderna booster on Friday(I got J&J in April) - first day I was eligible to do so. No side effects other than a slightly sore arm for about a day. Hope everyone else gets a booster as soon as they can!
POLITICO claims 7-term Congressman Bill Foster needs remap help, given, IMHO according to Illinois Election Data, the proposed IL-11 is attractive to an anti Trumper like Congressman Adam Kinzinger who’s looking for a new district to run in as he will not primary Congressman Darin LaHood.
IL-11 while being Biden +15 last year and Clinton +10 in 2016, was also only Pritzker +2.43 in 2018, and Duckworth +3 in 2016.
That would attract Kinzinger to run, and Catalina Lauf, who’s currently drawn into IL-11, has already dropped “IL-16″ from her social media pages, including her 158K+ followers Twitter page.
How will the next version of congressional map look to help Foster is on my mind?
A friend of mine called, all excited, because Katie Couric is appearing at the Chicago Theater in November. I was frantically trying to think of a reason to not go, but she said Chance the Rapper will be Couric’s special guest. So now I’m going.
Numbers very slowly increasing on my Metra rides, still tons of parking in my suburban station lot. It does seem more non-permit holders in the lot than permit holders.
I know a few permit holders who gave up their permits so that might be part of it too. It was a 7-year wait for a permit, I don’t think it will ever come back to what it was.
I simply cannot wrap my head around anti-vaxxers who won’t get the shot, even if they want it, because it’s mandated.
You need a pot holder to take something out of the hot oven. If it were suddenly mandated, would they stop using a potholder?
Glad to see neighbor replaced his upside down US flag wth a Don’t Thread on Me flag. Guess I’ll review the 01/06 videos to see if he’s visible.

===Numbers very slowly increasing on my Metra rides, still tons of parking in my suburban station lot. It does seem more non-permit holders in the lot than permit holders.===
Back in pre-COVID times, I always thought it was a waste to see all those unused permit spaces while I was frantically driving around the lot looking for an open space in the daily area, fearing I would miss my train (and sometimes missing it). My solution would be make them all first come first served. Second choice would be that any monthly space not occupied by 7:15 am or so becomes a daily space.
===I simply cannot wrap my head around anti-vaxxers who won’t get the shot, even if they want it, because it’s mandated.

Same here. I have a co-worker with this attitude. He even admitted that his fiancé and soon-to-be step-daughter depend on his income yet he still doesn’t want to be “forced” to get vaccinated. He was also very hesitant to even get tested weekly so he continue to work at his job. I really wish that he would get some sort of counseling to help him with his mental health because he definitely could use some professional help with his struggles during the pandemic.
=I simply cannot wrap my head around anti-vaxxers who won’t get the shot, even if they want it, because it’s mandated.=
Our resistance these days is not to ideas, it’s who’s advancing the idea. Even if it is completely logical and in our best interest, we consider who’s making the request instead of the merits of what’s being requested.
We both got Moderna boosters yesterday at Walmart. Left home at 2:30, back home at 3:45. That includes forms and waiting the 15 minutes after the jab. Easy. Little sore at injection spot this morning. Get the shot and get this over with.
Just found out, less than an hour ago. A combo of the side effects of my current meds, (which are TOO graphic to list here) my FRESHLY Diagnosed Pre-Hypertension. (As in: I JUST got the forms on it LESS than an hour ago), my longstanding medicinal allergies (which are TOO GRAPHIC to cite here) and my longstanding, my family history of heart conditions (i.e. widowmaker hear attack risk, congestive heart failure) and recently evolved list of chemical allergies.. Made it so, my doctor told me NOT to get the vax.. Until Novavax is publicly available.
So, now I have the red tape on it… I really don’t think I can be called an antivaxxer.
=I really don’t think I can be called an antivaxxer.=
Nor should you be. I consider it my responsibility to get vaccinated specifically because there are people in your situation that don’t have the option. As many have said, we’re doing this not only for ourselves but for those that can’t.
No Tynie you are not an anti vaxxer. but those who claim that there are hundreds of thousands like you who cannot get the vaccine or hundreds of thousands who have been injured by the vaccine are anti vaxxers. they are spinning lies.
Amelia, I genuinely don’t know where they get their information. These days, I don’t have ANY social media accts., or podcast apps. I also try to keep my newswatching down to a minimum. (I.e periodically checking this site for state news I can’t find anywhere else, checking the weather) It’s part of my personal method of mitigating my blood pressure spike risks. Given the diagnosis I got today, I believe it’s justified. You may not, but still.
