  3. - Ok - Friday, Oct 29, 21 @ 8:53 am:

I feel like Zoolander as societal allegory for the moment is my driving feeling of the month…

  4. - Give Me A Break - Friday, Oct 29, 21 @ 8:54 am:

Wait, come back, I still have bills the GOP wants to argue about. We need to hear their moral outrage some more.

  5. - Humboldt - Friday, Oct 29, 21 @ 9:00 am:

Woke up and found out I’m in a brand new congressional district, shared with friends who live out in…Wheaton.

I’m a big Ramirez fan and would support her going after this seat, but i’m curious where the population strength lies in this new 3rd.

  6. - Broken Wing - Friday, Oct 29, 21 @ 9:04 am:

any update on Kam Buckner’s DUI case in Springfield?

  7. - Flyin' Elvis'-Utah Chapter - Friday, Oct 29, 21 @ 9:06 am:

“Woke up and found out I got a new congressman.”

Swap you sight unseen for Bost.

  8. - Dog Lover - Friday, Oct 29, 21 @ 9:07 am:

I’m not crazy about the rain, but at least it’s not a gully washer. Happy Friday, everyone.

  9. - NonAFSCMEStateEmployeeFromChatham - Friday, Oct 29, 21 @ 9:14 am:

Quite a story yesterday in the Illinois Times by Scott Reeder, written in light of the Alec Baldwin ordeal and tragedy. Mentions that as a 12-year old in 1912, Adlai II accidentally shot a girl to death while at a party. Wow.

In a holding pattern waiting for the next DeVore Facebook Live. He’s already laid the groundwork that SB1169 was a huge loss for the Governor. He has many of his followers asking what’s next including one of Springfield 186 teachers.

He showed them a picture of boxes of the lawsuit all printed out. He has to keep these folks fired up. Because if they start losing faith his popularity will go right out the window.

  11. - Rich Miller - Friday, Oct 29, 21 @ 9:24 am:

    ===SB1169 was a huge loss===

    lol

  12. - Frumpy White Guy - Friday, Oct 29, 21 @ 9:31 am:

Casten and his toxic masculinity almost cost him his seat. Sad that another white male Democrat stands in the way of meaningful progress in the battle against sexism and racism. Message to white male Democrats please show your true commitment to equality and step aside for those who have suffered at the hands of white men,

  13. - Oswego Willy - Friday, Oct 29, 21 @ 9:33 am:

    Kinzinger tweeted some news…

  14. - MisterJayEm - Friday, Oct 29, 21 @ 9:33 am:

    What’s new?

    – MrJM

  15. - Pundent - Friday, Oct 29, 21 @ 9:36 am:

So Kinzinger is bowing out of the house (for now)?

  16. - Heather - Friday, Oct 29, 21 @ 9:37 am:

The Hill is reporting that Kinzinger will not run for reelection.

  17. - Pundent - Friday, Oct 29, 21 @ 9:41 am:

Kinzinger is smart. He’s keeping his powder dry for another day. Somebody needs to stake out new territory for true conservatives.

  18. - Candy Dogood - Friday, Oct 29, 21 @ 9:54 am:

Sometimes I have to remind myself that we’re technically no longer on the worst time line.

  19. - Thomas Paine - Friday, Oct 29, 21 @ 10:35 am:

=== Sad that another white male Democrat stands in the way of meaningful progress in the battle against sexism and racism. ===

The eight Democratic women, Black Americans, Latino American and Asian American Illinois Congressmen don’t seem too broken up about it.

I’m just saying, if Robin Kelly, Jan Schakowsky or Nancy Pelosi were calling for the legislature to carve out a safe Democratic seat for Marie Newman with with not too many minorities, not too many Conservative Democrats, and not too many Moderate Democrats where she would t have to campaign or raise money…I missed that story.

  20. - Amalia - Friday, Oct 29, 21 @ 10:44 am:

did the number of districts touching Chicago precincts increase?

  21. - SOIL M - Friday, Oct 29, 21 @ 10:48 am:

Today is First Responders Day. Take a few minutes and thank the First Responders in your area. They are vital no matter where you live, but in rural areas that depend on Volunteers, please show your apppreciation. Finding Volunteers is very difficult these days and keeping the ones we have is very important. Please show your Thanks and Appreciation to those in your Community

  22. - BluegrassBoy - Friday, Oct 29, 21 @ 11:23 am:

Bell Bowl Prairie at the Rockford airport has been saved from destruction for now. Hopefully they go with an alternative design that saves this site and showcases it.

  23. - Now I'm down in it. - Friday, Oct 29, 21 @ 11:48 am:

I am looking forward to giving candy out to the kids on Sunday. We’re proud to be the neighbors with the full-size candy bars. We’re considering a more elaborate setup this year, depending upon the weather.

  24. - NonAFSCMEStateEmployeeFromChatham - Friday, Oct 29, 21 @ 12:19 pm:

Happy St. Patrick’s Day in October. Basically what Halloween has turned into especially at the bars and among liquor distributors.

  25. - Cheryl44 - Friday, Oct 29, 21 @ 12:29 pm:

=Take a few minutes and thank the first responders in your area.=

    Only if they’re vaccinated.

  26. - NonAFSCMEStateEmployeeFromChatham - Friday, Oct 29, 21 @ 12:53 pm:

How likely could it be that last Sunday’s game could be the start of at least an 11-game losing streak for the Bears? I honestly see that happening. Since it’s unlikely they’ll win against the Niners Sunday. The only chance I think the Bears have for a win the rest of the season may be at the Lions on Thanksgiving, but that seems shaky at best.

  27. - thisjustinagain - Friday, Oct 29, 21 @ 1:15 pm:

As a former First Responder, I salute all those active in their choosen field(s). When others are running away from danger, they are running into it. They stand ready on nights, weekends, and holidays. They often donate their very lives and take risks others can’t or won’t. Yes, Virginia, there are still heroes, and First Responders are some of them.

  28. - Dotnonymous - Friday, Oct 29, 21 @ 1:28 pm:

Can anyone provide a list of the true conservatives?…and to what they are true?

  29. - Dotnonymous - Friday, Oct 29, 21 @ 1:45 pm:

I’ll bet a cup of coffee Kinzinger is a good poker player.
