Is it necessary for Jesse Sharkey to call Lori Lightfoot “relentlessly stupid”? Sharkey and Lightfoot are both accomplished individuals. Let’s hope for the sake of everyone involved things can move forward .
We are hiring Sharkey as Defensive head coach , he is good at shutting things down

==I don’t want to be Nagy about it, but the Bears making changes is long overdue to keep Pace with other franchises==
I also don’t want to be Nagy about it too, but I’m not holding my breath the Bears will find any quality replacements for him and Pace either. As long as the Mccaskeys are still running the show I have no faith in who the Bears hire.
Maybe give Lovie Smith another chance? Since his 2012 firing by the Bears after a 10-6 season was in my opinion a mistake. Bears have never recovered from that dumb move.

Echoing Brocco…. please no Harbaugh. He’s always had an imbalance of ego to accomplishment.
Personally I am excited to see what marquee Coach & GM signing the McCaskey family makes to give fans that shelling out for new Arlington Heights Stadium PSLs fever.
can’t stand Harbaugh, but he might be the right choice. yesterday OB said when the Bears hired Ditka they hired a guy who was very hard on everyone and that the Bears need that. That is Harbaugh. also, he’s the kind of Roman Catholic who did mission work in Peru. that is right up the alley of the grande dame of the team. ok, sure he got divorced but hard ass and mission work might overlook that. and he wants both roles at the team. better than Nagy gone, Pace is gone. he did not translate his work at the Saints to the Bears.
As 49ers head coach, Jim Harbaugh took over a 6-10 team and immediately turned it around, finishing 13-3, 11-4 and 12-4 over the next three years with three straight NFC championship game appearances and a Super Bowl. Vic Fangio was his defensive coordinator. Who cares about ego? Bears need a proven GM and coach this time, not another guy looking for a first opportunity. A Harbaugh/Fangio reunion would be worth looking into, as would other candidates with proven track records for a change. The key is are the Bears willing to pay the money to make it happen?

Seems like yesterday (1993, first year of the Wanny disaster) where a family member of mine who’s a huge Bears fan almost always preceded or followed the word “Harbaugh” with profanity.
Now he could be the next HC.

Seriously, you think the McCaskeys are going to spend money finding a marquee HC and GM? Not holding my breath that it will be anyone else but their usual mediocre hires.
how much do they pay a GM and a coach in total? Could Harbaugh come in and do both for less money? that would appeal to the McCaskey brand too. LOL that story about Olin Kruetz. jeez.
Both Pace and Nagy were let go today. Lots of people talk about about Nagy, but Pace really did horrible this year. He let go of Kyle Fuller and Charles Leno in order to sign Dalton and kept Jimmy Graham. The roster really needed all 5 TEs. Not to mention his inability to obtain draft capital.
Hopefully this direction is a good direction.

It won’t matter who is coach if the Bears’ senior management doesn’t figure out their culture as lovable rich losers survives. I’m not the only one to say this; heard former Bears are saying it also, and one local pro trainer telling a few tales out of school about being offered jobs for about $15/hour by top mis-management. And if they don’t dump Pace, the head coach will die of frustration as draft picks are wasted yet again
It doesn’t help matters in these negotiations, as Two large egos paint a line in the sand. What really concerns me is the Teachers becoming involved, and attacking the Mayor or anyone that disagrees with their leadership. Let it be WGN, Twitter, Youtube.
Why are people talking about McCaskeys, I thought Aaron Rodgers owned the Bears?

And said owner’s team got embarrassed yesterday by the Lions.
Yes, I know it was only 37-30 but any loss to the Lions this year is an embarassment. Especially if the loser is the team where many of its fans wear Cheeseheads.

Right?
I’d never describe Lightfoot’s behavior as “relentless.”
