Did HB 2778 ever get a decision from the governor. I have looked all over for current info, and all I can see is that it was sent to the governor, and that was over 70 days ago?

How do you say “Ah-Dee-Yos” in Japanese to Rahm Emmanuel?

Tribune article this morning says the IL Capitol is beginning a $224 million renovation. I remember the kerfuffle when they just upgraded the copper doors some years back. Wonder how long it will take for this renovation to become the focus of some candidate’s ire?
Not just the handling of the rape case by Judge Adrian but then throwing a prosecutor out of court over a social media like about holding rapists accountable.
The COVID-19 pandemic or the trial of Tom Cullerton?
Smart money is on the pandemic.

Read the article about the judge. It included him throwing a lawyer out of his courtroom because he agreed with criticism of the judge. Judge said I can’t be fair to you today. Think the right way for a judge to deal with a lawyer you feel you can’t be fair to is to recuse yourself, not toss out the attorney. Guess things are different in Adams County.
Winter storm expected to hit Iowa. We made the obligatory supermarket run yesterday. Rigged out in my N95 always makes me feel a bit like an explorer out to see some xenofauna. But Iowans are a tolerant lot (plus it was nighttime so not busy) and we were undisturbed. Food and beverage supplies are good we’re ready to see what Ma Nature throws at us.
@OneMan, I’m with you on finding such a group. I was stunned reading the Daily Mail and finding the story as the prominent story on the first page yesterday. the judge’s ruling is abhorrent.

SJ-R is cutting Saturday print editions starting March 19. They will still have an E-edition available for Saturdays.
If they were dropping 1 print day it would have just made more sense to merge the Saturday and Sunday papers into a new Weekend Edition. Which could be made available Saturday morning but is like the Sunday paper.

@TurkeyHunter
The official date it was sent was 11/30 so it’s still within the 60-day period.

Adams County Judge Adrian’s ruling is so outrageous, it is covered in the British press. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10396583/Judge-declares-rapist-INNOCENT-sentencing-says-148-days-custody-long-enough.html

So disturbed by the stuff out of Adams County.

Then the chief judge removes Judge Adrian from the bench? What a mess.
