* Still coming down here. What’s going on by you?…
Here are the latest road conditions. As you can see, it is a mess over nearly the entire state. Please stay home if you are able to give our crews more room to work.
The periodic shoveling “workouts” are replacing my daily indoor cycling workout, so something different, at least.

I would guess about 8-10 inches (and still coming down) in Chatham so far.
And not to change the subject, but SJ-R has a paywalled story (which will appear in whatever’s left of Sunday’s print paper most likely) stating that 7 McDonald’s locations in Springfield have changed hands. However, Madonia reported on the end of his show that Rodney Davis’s family has bought the Springfield McD’s:
I just checked the sjr for conditions in the Springfield area and found nada.” Well, considering the Springfield newspaper managed to misspell “Springfield” says a lot.
It’s not snowing here (south side of Chicago near the lake) now, but it’s pretty windy, and the weather reports are saying we’ll get some lake effect snow today.
So I decided yesterday to cancel any plans for today that involved going outside. And I made myself French toast for breakfast.
” … since I have no intention of supporting a business owned by Rodney Davis.”
Unfortunately, he learned & uses the Ray Kroc approach to unsatisfied customers (fix the order / refund the money, and then move past them) for voters who disagree with him. Darin LaHood, at least pre-January 6th, would engage with people who disagreed with him. Not Rodney.
RT 10 east of Clinton was reported to have had 4 foot drifts by the sheriff’s department before it was plowed. Fun times. Staying home until the sun comes out tomorrow. Dang… now that pesky Annie song is earworming me (banned punctuation).
I’m able to watch house and senate committee hearings on my phone, but not on my computer. when i click the link, it says that the stream is off, when i’m watching it on my phone at the same exact time. anybody else experiencing this? any ideas?
=Darin LaHood, at least pre-January 6th, would engage with people who disagreed with him.=
LOL, I am not a RD fan or supporter, but Darin LaHood is a complete zero. He has never developed an original thought and is just cashing checks and living off of his fathers legacy.
Also not snowing on the Northside near the lake. It’s windy though.

We live in rural Arcola and we were without power yesterday from 7:45 am to 4 pm, some of our neighbors to the South were not as lucky. From the Coles-Moultrie Electric Cooperative Facebook page:
“CMEC is currently experiencing ice build up on many lines in the area. We do not expect this problem to go away any time soon. Crews are making repairs and as soon as those repairs are complete another problem occurs in another area. If you are able to secure a generator or arrange lodging elsewhere, it would be a good idea.”
I wish at least some of the messaging from government officials telling people to stay home due to storm conditions included messaging to businesses to close up so all their workers can stay home.
Most businesses seem to get it but unfortunately not all.
Pre January 6th, LaHood would “mix it up” on WMAY and defend his position. Rodney Davis refused, repeatedly, to answer questions, such as “Will you vote to repeal individual mandates?”
Winds rearranged snow overnite but accumulation has stopped. We keep playing Mary Ann’s exhausting grilling of RichieRich to see if he will cut off funding to Lincoln County for supporting JB’s mandates or if Trump won in 2020.

No snow in beautiful DuPage County this morning. We had about 6 inches of snow yesterday. Roads are plowed and in pretty good shape.
Difficult to tell exactly how much is on the ground here due to drifting. We started yesterday with ice, then sleet, now snowing like a banshee. It’s like a winter layered salad out on the roadways around here. I would suggest no travel unless really neccesary in the SW corner. Seems more snow closer you get to Metro area, more ice as you work down Route 3 out of Randolph county. We luckily have had no power issues and are generally always prepared to stay home from town for awhile.
Oh heck yes the CMEC has a lot of miles of lines and not as much fancy switching equipment as more densely populated areas (it’s expensive and with the sparseness of the user base, would not pay). It had an insanely large miles of line to customer last I looked. Their lineman are working hard but there is only so many of them to go around. Plus just identifying the break can sometimes take time with that kind of sparseness.

Here in southern Sangamon County, still snowing with the wind howling. Have right at 9 inches on the ground right now.

SW spfld. Not going nowhere no how.
Stocked up Monday. Chicken, hamburger stroganoff, homemade tamales covered in a Mexican stew. With a dollop of sour cream and salsa.
Cold with runny nose, watery eyes, and sneezing like crazy. Seems to have abated ever so slightly today.
