Looks like a crowded news day…State police shows results on expressway shooting push, AG and retailers crack down on mass shop lifters…Durkie asked to play nicer and schools cancel after whacks “win” in court.
so much bad Chicago hockey news but not at the Olympics. Coyne-Schofield and Murphy of the women’s hockey team are both South Suburban products, lots of great cheering going on.
Here’s something: Whether you agree or disagree on the school mask TRO, it is a fact that there is widespread confusion among school districts about what the ruling meant, and what their options are. Where is the governor on this? He issued a statement but I believe he needs to be front and center on this to make sure students, educators and parents know what to expect this week, and what options are available.
For the most part, I have been a huge supporter the Governor for what he’s done during the pandemic but I think we’re missing the leadership today.
I watched Mark Maxwell interview Gary Rabine on Capitol Connections yesterday. Maxwell described Rabine as the current GOP “front runner.” Based on what? Also, Rabine came out opposing funding for early childhood education. He also believed it was a mistake to spend extra on paying down the pension debt. And he showed he doesn’t understand the difference between Tier I and Tier II pensions. He did look splendid in his orange coveralls./s
I have wasted my entire afternoon break reading through the madness on DeVore’s facebook page - it’s been enlightening (or perhaps entertaining?) to watch his followers fight and turn on each other. It’s starting feel even more dystopian and bit cannibalistic in that bunch.
DeVore essentially posted “Everyone, If you are not a current client, please quit calling my office!! I am not adding anyone else to any case at this time.”
Then things started going downhill as some defended him and some were angry which led to who paid for what, why he won’t take calls, those who gave money or paid for representation complaining about those who did not. The myriad of them all trying to interpret the ruling to suit themselves.
Plenty of you didn’t fight hard enough…you didn’t pay enough…you didn’t ask to be in this until we won…it’s been hilarious to watch them self destruct.

My school district cancelled classes today so Facebook is lighting up the teachers. So - another day ending in Y.

What’s the latest guidance on rules for in-person lobbying the Senate this week?

Well one thing about all the negative off the ice headlines is I care a whole lot less about the lackluster on-ice product for the Blackhawks.

I am on a one person crusade to tell everyone on twitter they are wrong about HB4640.
Three people changed their minds. Dozens did not respond. Two learned how to read a bill but still think Conroy wants to put them in covid jail.
Two were completely immune to the guide to how to use ilga.gov.
And the first elected elected member of the general assembly has joined in. Martin McLaughlin, 52nd.

Wait until they realize that county judges don’t actually have this power.
