Nope, this is a miserable time of year. The crazies are going full tilt, the new right wing approach to scholls is predicated on harassing people so they will quit or get School Board members to resign.
I don’t want to ever hear family values or any of the old tropes from the right ever again.
One favorable temporary decision and they are completely off the chain.
There would not appear to be a stay forthcoming since the TRO was granted on the 4th, and the petition was made on the 6th. Nonetheless, we were told the appeal might take two weeks, which would be this coming Friday the 18th. I just hope the Appellate Court will issue a ruling beyond declaring the case moot.
still shocked we’re getting rid of masks, when the UK is starting to see a Delta/Omicron hybrid variant. Seems like every time we let us we get another surge.
The weather is supposed to get nasty tomorrow, so I have a large grocery delivery on its way. After that gets here I’m off to the library so I’ll have food and books. I did laundry, so I’ll have clean clothes, food, and books. I’ll be ready for it.
Today’s avoidable mistake: two different spellings used for the same person’s last name in the “transitions” section. Which is correct? Nobody knows (at least not Shia)
@Michelle Flaherty 8:26 am….that was one of the funniest things I’ve heard in a while. Thank you

I was looking through committee schedules for today and Lester Bovia is nomiated for Inspector General of DCFS in the Executive Appointments Committee. How do you think that will go?
So as I listened in on a conversation with a local Attorney talking about the appeal of the TRO. He was saying that the Governor applied for the appeal to the fourth and for an emergency stay. He said the stay wasn’t ruled upon so that’s taken it was denied. And we should hear something late Wednesday early Thursday.
Words of wisdom from Tom DeVore in his The Tyrant is Falling Facebook Live.
I am constantly reminded how powerful the ITLA is in this state. Working with a few general contractors that paying for work comp for their employees meant that work comp would be the exclusive remedy for injuries on the job. Apparently the Illinois Supreme Court felt differently.

Excellent, accurate and very funny.
I actually laughed out loud, Michelle Flaherty. Appreciate the funny start to the day.

Eh, so-so. Valentine’s Day was just another day. Today the sun is shining, temps in low 30’s, birds singing a bit. Did anyone find the Super Bowl game itself kinda lame? The NFL really needs to look at their playoff system, because a team with a lesser record made it to the SB, while better teams didn’t.
In Thornton Township/Z-Team news, the township board is holding a close-session meeting to “consider a person to fill a vacancy of public office”, so maybe a replacement for the late Frank Zuccarelli is approaching.
Thought the superbowl was actually pretty decent. Would have been better with the refs were consistent with holds/pi calls though. To not call anything all game and then extend the rams drive twice over that in the last 2 minutes is kind of lame.
Mixed bag.
Happy the snow geese were cooperative and i was able to get in some good shooting in time to get back at my desk to get work.
Sad and deeply disappointed the the new key lime pie M and M’s are definitely NOT the taste treat I had anticipated.

My Valentine’s Day was like Jim Durkin’s legislative agenda.
Never made it out of the House.

What’s taking the mask Appeal so long?

“or get school board members to resign”
Always said I would run for the U.S. Senate before running for a school board seat.
