I feel like this has to hit home for people all over the state. It feels like no matter where you go or how short your drive is, you’re driving through or past a road being repaved or bridge repaired.

–Nice contrast to the Ken Dunkin 2.0 hostile and doom ads–
It’s a good idea to remind voters of everything he’s accomplished and it’s nice to put Illinois in a good spotlight instead of the dark and scary ads running on the other side.
I would rate the add a B+. Pritzker is in the position where he can just keep hitting singles and highlight what functioning government should look like. Given that his opposition at the moment seems intent on running a single issue campaign, pointing to a broad range of successes should be effective.

B for this ad and I think he should mention the $ being invested in locks and dams with our fed partners. Extremely important to sustaining and increasing our place in global exports. AG is #1 in Illinois.
A
Solid ad. Specifics on his accomplishments concerning infrastructure. It’s a nice foundation ad. A relief from the nasty war, crime, riot, burn ads, and the word I have learned to hate “take” or “take back”.
As things get nastier, ordinary people will likely remember positive building blocks like this.
“Oh, this is just South of his Lake Geneva home.” If you’re implying that it got done because he lives there, the better flex would be implying that it got done because there are whole bunch of rich people living there.
JB can keep churning out feel good ads that resonate with the same 39% who approve of the Biden administration’s approach to the economy, inflation, border security and public safety
===economy, inflation, border security and public safety===
All real, but unknown 8+ months from now… and throw in abortion… and if the nominee is Bailey, Sullivan, or Rabine…
Irvin has a big race ahead of him, and if he wins, can Irvin consolidate the cult-folks Bailey is courting and the Trumpian suburbanites Rabine wants to target.
This ad, bringing it back to the ad and the post, all those “things” you want to overtake actual accomplishments, in these 8+ month, an incumbent governor, with no primary, will be able to show off tangible wins, and this ad sets up the “infrastructure tours”, and then the “social service tours”, then the “growing of business tours”…
It’s the blocking and tacking, it’s the 4-yard off tackle runs that grind out first downs.
==Oh, and Joe Biden isn’t running for Governor in IL, JB is. ==
And this ad doesn’t even hint at Joe Biden, it talks about building roads and bridges which is so popular that Republicans vote for it at the state and national level.
==So, maybe, please, just try to use IL-relevant points? ==
OTOH, it’s enlightening that he can’t actually point to what Pritzker is doing wrong (or whatever Republican he’s been told to support today is doing right), he just has to hope that Biden’s unpopularity drags Pritzker down.
B+ Solid ad and because it is positive vs the Irvin armageddon type ads it will draw a distinction between where Illinois is headed and the crazy hateful right wing.
=JB can keep churning out feel good ads that resonate with the same 39%=
Good to know that you don’t use roads or bridges, you know the things getting fixed by the governor. Action versus culture wars. I’ll take the action guy (fyi that is Pritzker).

This is an “off left tackle running play”, it gets 4 yards and the defense can’t seem to stop the play.
It’s perfectly textbook for an incumbent with a record of accomplishing things, “and there’s more to do”
I liked the visuals, the music, “ok”
It’s an “A-“, leaving room for the 20-40 yard passes downfield and the special team scores yet to be seen.

Immune? It’s less of a factor when a candidate isn’t constantly talking about the president.
If the president’s popularity was so important, wouldn’t we see a lot more “waves” in the governor’s races?
