Depressed. No more state holidays until Memorial Day (and until Juneteenth for the GA).
Just kidding, I’m glad to be back too but there’s still always that weird feeling the day after Presidents’ Day knowing that there’s no days off until then. Even though I will definitely take at least one day vacation off between now and Memorial Day, especially at Easter week.
School dropoff today featured a bunch of “local parents” that nobody had ever met before (and that the principal told us were not parents of any child at our school) screaming at children for wearing masks. So that was a great start to the week and not at all upsetting for my kindergartener.
Takes a big man to scream at a 5-year-old.

this is the time of year when the light is deceptive. it looks like it’s a warm spring day even late into the day with the lengthening light when it is sunny. but it’s still bleech winter. come on spring.
Suburban Mom, my blood is boiling for you. I know it’s best to take the higher road, but I wouldn’t blame you one bit if you screamed back. I know I would have.
Redwing blackbirds came up on the warm winds yesterday. Good to hear their trills again. That’s Spring to me.

The SJ-R is yet again making their periodic spiel about the 5 benefits to a digital subscription. All of which are weak: Stay connected; access the paper on the go; subscriber-only newsletters; personalized news alerts; and the e-edition. Nothing about getting hardcore journalism or investigative report, and less fluff news, or promises that if more people subcribe they will have more money to hire more quality reporters again. And no mention that you have to talk to customer service from out of state, nor that (from what I’ve heard from friends) that the E-edition is through an Apple music download app. Weak sauce.

Sorry to read Suburban Mom’s post.
Kids and parents should not have to put up with this kind of behavior.
Suburban Mom, that’s just awful. People like that are why we’re still wearing masks. This is not over and yelling at small children isn’t going to make it disappear.

Was just looking at Alexi’s list of endorsements and noticed that he has been endorsed by the “Jones County Democratic Party.” Here’s hoping he picks up that all-important Lincoln County endorsement too.
S Mom. so sorry. The principal says they don’t belong to your school so maybe he/she can call police? Your child deserves an education and not to be bullied. This is so sad

Happy birthday to me.
Remembering how I would have a day off of school on my birthday before the uniform holiday Monday act went into effect in 1971.
One year went skiing with my dad at Wilmot Mountain. Froze to death.
Those were the days.

Can we criminalize this? We should if so.

“come on spring”
Will arrive on March 20th.
Started sweet potato slips under lights and on heating pads. Have roots growing. Expect buds in a couple of weeks.
