Got a call from an Alexi volunteer the other day. I said well, if he’s the nominee Ill vote for him but I have concerns about his electability going back to when he lost Obama’s Senate seat to Mark Kirk and his ads are stupid. And as a friend said, the process to renew licenses at the SoS office is very smooth currently so all this stuff about making it more efficient is 1) a salm against Jesse White and 2) total nonsense since its alresdy efficiemt.

Here is what could happen in this race: Anna and Alexi both beat each other up and David Moore slides in; almost exactly like what happened 30 years ago when Carol Braun won after Dixon and Hofeld used napalm on each other and Braun got it despite having no money. We’ll see.

Have the White Sox released Dallas Keuchel yet?

  3. - Give Me A Break - Friday, May 27, 22 @ 9:24 am:

Suppose to tee off around 12:00 today. Rain, overcast and temp around 61, Memorial Day Weekend in central Illinois.

  4. - Chito - Friday, May 27, 22 @ 9:27 am:

Cubs routed 20-5; Sox say “hold my beer” and go out and do almost as poorly.

  5. - Chito - Friday, May 27, 22 @ 9:29 am:

BTW, Steele campaign a bit slower to respond to the Latinos. I guess we don’t matter as much as Jewish voters.

  6. - Friendly Bob Adams - Friday, May 27, 22 @ 9:38 am:

Keuchel is just awful. I suppose he has a big contract the Sox don’t want to be on the hook for, but gosh he’s just bad in every way.

Except for the beard. That’s an All Star beard for sure.

  7. - NorthsideNoMore - Friday, May 27, 22 @ 10:00 am:

Happy Memorial Day Weekend ! THANKS to all that Served, Sacrificed and to the Families of the Fallen. Please take time to remember them this weekend (and everyday)

  8. - Anon - Friday, May 27, 22 @ 10:08 am:

Seems like a common sense step to assault wepon purchases would be to just put up on a gov’t website the name the addresses of anyone purchasing AR15s? The federal govt already has the person’s name and address via the background check. It would serve the same purpose as the sex offender registry– schools and local law enforcement would know where assault weapons are in their community and would certainly bring more awareness to these purchases.

  9. - Proud Papa Bear - Friday, May 27, 22 @ 10:09 am:

Sitting here chilled, looking forward to one hour of nice temperatures on Saturday before we go into the oven.

  10. - BTO - Friday, May 27, 22 @ 10:11 am:

Next week marks the 5th month the body shop has had our vehicle awaiting parts after hitting a deer. They can’t give us a date when to expect the parts to arrive.

Everyone have a safe Memorial Day weekend. We’ll be visiting the graves of family and friends.

  11. - Amalia - Friday, May 27, 22 @ 10:24 am:

well, at least I got a cool t shirt at the Sox game…..

  12. - sladay - Friday, May 27, 22 @ 10:35 am:

Hard rock casino rockford should break ground on the permanent site within the next 2 months. IGB just had to approve final design blueprints. They are tweaking the plans to add a hotel, live poker and increase the music venue by 600 seats. The temp site has been doing well.

  13. - cermak_rd - Friday, May 27, 22 @ 10:38 am:

Anon 10:08, you know that’s not a bad idea, maybe fake names so people aren’t harassed but definitely a pin map showing where the guns are. And, even more importantly, when someone new has purchased a weapon.

  14. - Dance Band on the Titanic - Friday, May 27, 22 @ 11:15 am:

Today is the last day of the school year for my kids. I’ll sleep much better tonight than the past several.

  15. - NonAFSCMEStateEmployeeFromChatham - Friday, May 27, 22 @ 11:25 am:

    ==Cubs routed 20-5==

To the Reds, of all teams.

Cards also didn’t do much better last night, even though they lost 4-3. But a bad loss since it was against the Brew Crew and thus falling farther from 1st.

  16. - Yes and - Friday, May 27, 22 @ 11:58 am:

@chito and I didn’t see it written about anywhere besides here so I guess Latinos don’t matter to reporters either

  17. - Amalia - Friday, May 27, 22 @ 12:54 pm:

I’ve heard that the most popular day for pizza is Saturday. in my house it is Friday. planning….

  18. - thisjustinagain - Friday, May 27, 22 @ 3:07 pm:

Sorry, they won’t be posting owner’s/buyer’s gun information online anytime soon. And it prevents nothing. Shaming the law-abiding stops nothing. Law-abiding owners aren’t the problem in Illinois or anywhere else. Comparing registering sex offenders (who are convicted criminals) with law-abiding gun owners exercising their legal rights is another example of non-credible “solutions” to the crime problem.
