The Cubs are who we thought they were this szn, although, I’m encouraged by the last 6 weeks.
The SOX? And their fans and their expectations for the szn? Laughable. Pre-szn favs to get to WS and currently under .500.
Always “next year.”

Does it violate the Illinois only conversation to point out the NL Central Champions can be seen from the Illinois side of the river? Asking for some friends.
I see where IDOT I is hosting a second round of open houses for seasonal jobs. These snow bunny positions were once tough to get and it may mean Illinois road conditions will be rough sledding this winter.

IL sells Cardinals license plates, so there’s your hook.
It has been fun watching Pujols and Judge chase HR history, it’s great for the game, and both clubs made the post season.
The Cubs are exactly who they were billed. If the get ZERO for Contreras, that will be so “Cubs”, never understood why such a heartless club had a heart with Contreras, and even when the market dried up, a couple AA arms were out there.
The White Sox, now on total arson retrospect… they were doomed, and then throw in injuries, they are lucky to be hovering around .500, as a club they seemed like their Skipper, not fully engaged at a needed level of competency to the tasks at hand (hitting, bullpen, fielding)
The Sox need a reboot, not a resoled shoe that Reisdorf felt he owed something
They’ll get a comp pick for losing him after they put the qualifying offer on him. That’ll probably be a third-rounder. It’s not what they could’ve gotten for him in July but it ain’t nothing
One of the last times there was a hurricane coming through Florida we used to get live weather/hurricane updates on the blog from Jim Riemer, Jr. I miss those.
I finally broke down and turned my heat on last night. I’m not happy about it. I was hoping for a couple of weeks with the windows open and enjoying fall air first.
Careful out there. they may look cute, but steer clear of armadillos. They can spread leprosy, a disease that dates back to biblical times (see Leviticus 13). It can be very dangerous and is a sign of the Creator’s disfavor. What do you you think killed off the dinosaurs?
I drove by a house today that had an odd assortment of yard signs. They had a JB sign, a Devore sign, Duckworth, Mike Thoms and a few others. Honestly makes me think they are trolling everyone.
The only non Illinois thing I have to say is I’m thinking about the people in Florida being affected by the storm. I know a few people who decided not to evacuate from it and I’m hoping they will be ok.
According to the USA Today NFL power ratings, the Bears fell from 28th to 29th out of 32 teams after Sunday’s lucky win. So there is still room to move up to “mediocre” before the season ends( but not that far to fall to be the worst team) /s
=good organizations are better at handling personnel issues.=
As you often say, reading is fundamental. I never said it was a good decision. I never said they were a good organization. I said they wouldn’t get nothing, and that, sir, is true.
No, because I wasn’t trying to engage in a discussion. I was correcting an error in your statement. The Cubs will get draft pick compensation. Irrespective of whether that pick makes the majors, that pick - a person, remember - is not nothing.
Is that former Chicagoan Terry Mazany on now with Stephanie Ruhle on msnbc from trapped in his high rise in Florida? said his wife was Lottie, so that matches. terrifying situation.

I’ve always considered St. Louis to be an honorary part of Illinois.
Or St. Louis is to Illinois as Eddie Haskell is to the Cleaver family. A regular visitor there.

Who would’ve thought Da Bears would be the only pro sports team in Illinois with a winning record in October?

Would to you call that a front office fail?
You put up an offer that in July you knew you had no intention in keeping?
Just asking… good organizations are better at handling personnel issues.
