The Tribune is now about halfway through its State House endorsement process, and a bizarre pattern is coming into focus. They are refusing to even mention whether a Democratic member was part of the 19 who forced out Madigan. They’re endorsing some, and opposing others, with no mention either way.
In fact, the only one of the 19 whose endorsement write-up mentions Madigan is Will Guzzardi. But they didn’t endorse Guzzardi. Instead, they criticized him for voting for the ComEd bill. They described that vote as “in lockstep with the Democratic leadership,” without noting his role in dethroning that same leadership a few years later.
I doubt the editorial board forgot about the end of Madigan’s career. It seems like they’ve made a conscious decision to award no credit to the Representatives who accomplished one of the board’s strongest wishes for Illinois government. It’s intellectually dishonest and insulting to readers’ intelligence. Democratic reps ignored the Trib endorsement process for years, thinking they wouldn’t get a fair shake as long as Madigan was in charge. Many filled out the questionnaire this year, evidently hoping for a reasonable decision-making process. The Trib instead chose smarmy winking. My guess is they never hear from most Democratic representatives ever again.

Happy six year anniversary to arguably the greatest sports championship victory in American history that happened in our state. It was raw, deep emotion for so many.

Correct. OTOH, it’s nice that the Trib is moving on from MJM (moderate snark)?
But this is a lesson to Dems that RW media will never give them credit for doing what RW media asked for. MJM had to go for other reasons, but Dems should’ve known that they’d get no credit for it.
Proft and friends appear to be exporting their propaganda papers. In Arizona the Archdiocese there issued a statement that a publication called Arizona Catholic Tribune that is being mailed to people there is not affiliated with the Catholic Church. Appears very similar to the papers mailed here as part of the LGIS Proft stuff. Some stories even list the same people in the bylines. Web site does not show who is behind it but the site is hosted in Illinois and mentions Illinois laws that apply to it for privacy.
Now I’ve got the jingle from their Youtube commercials in my head, always followed by commercials for the conservative candidate in the judicial elections for the last couple of weeks.
So the safelight guy comes to your house and doesn’t get the work? Kind of rude wasting his time unless you told him ahead of time if it needed replaced you would go elsewhere…
I guess I can’t complain too much about the holiday tunes on the radio. I am going to band rehearsal tonight to play holiday tunes in preparation for our concert. In our defense, though, we only meet once a week so there are limited rehearsals until the concert.
-So the safelight guy comes to your house and doesn’t get the work?-
I didn’t get that from the original post. They do repairs and replacements via house calls. Difference is just the cost.

I’m mystified about the White Sox manager hire. Would it be too much to hire a guy that has managed in the major leagues before?
Like all long-term assistants (bench coaches) the question is, if he’s so good, why hasn’t someone hired him before. He’s apparently had a ton of interviews.
Fingers crossed that this guy works out. I don’t have any confidence in Hahn or Williams, but who knows??

Can MJM take the Corruption Trifecta in the next 12 months, since he’s now under two indictments already?
Sun shining, birds singing, leaves falling in 60827.
Will this be the final year for DST?; Congress has a bill which passed the Senate I heard; House didn’t take it up yet according to news reports.

The Safelite guy is coming by today, hope it is fixable vs. needing a replacement on the windshield.
Also looks like a good night for some reading on the patio and an adult bevridge.

Earnest, sorry man.
Turns out I need it replaced and there is a guy in the area I have used before that I am going to go to.
