Don’t forget to adjust your clocks this weekend. Another hour of sleep right before Election Day can’t hurt.

Environmental Integrity Project and Earthjustice’s new joint report reveals that CWLP’s Dallman 4 power plant’s coal ash dump is causing 14 times safe arensic levels, and 10 times safe boron levels, in groundwater.
Anyone have any idea when Biden is supposed to land in Chicago today?
I live right in the O’Hare flight paths and it would be cool to get a picture of Air Force One coming in, but obviously it doesn’t have a public transponder and the White House keeps trip details pretty secret.
I really appreciate the resource that Capitolfax is, including both Rich’s ability to give context to current news by giving historical info and other background. I read it every day.
That being said.
I’m really looking forward to election season being over so I have to stop scrolling past every post about election ads. I don’t watch much live TV, and I have ad blockers out the wazoo, so pretty much the only place I see them is here.
Paper Illinois tax rebate check finally arrived yesterday in mailbox. Auto signed by both Frerichs and Mendoza in large bold print so you couldn’t miss why it was issued.. We’re glad to have the money, but they did cut that awfully close, though.
Months and months of work and effort are going to be assessed next week, and till then I’m left hoping that voters won’t fall for deceitful efforts undertaken by the right wing as their default campaign tactic because they have nothing material to offer voters and nothing to sell beyond hate for and fear of your neighbors.
If it works again we’re in trouble. Even if it doesn’t work here.
==when Biden is supposed to land==
Find a friend with a ham radio or scanner. All Air Traffic Control communication is open to the public. I listened to the tower welcome AF1 and Obama to the Springfield air space and land them. Pretty cool(banned punctuation.)
Just want to say again how nice it is having Isabel around here.

Gannett strikes again this morning. One of the SJ-R’s front page online stories concerns a bridge project in Cranston, Rhode Island. That story was written for the Providence (RI) Journal.
And yet Gannett if they could would charge at least $50/month for their “newspaper” and then claim “by doing so you’re investing in your community.” Yeah right.
While watching TV last night, when every few minutes there was a parade of political ads, I realized the most valuable item in my house is the MUTE button on my remote.
==I realized the most valuable item in my house is the MUTE button on my remote.==
I tend to watch shows after they air on the DVR so I can FF through commercials. But when I am watching live tv I record it and just start watching a little later (20 minutes for a one hour show, 40 minutes for a two hour show, etc.) so that I can still skip the commercials and by the end of the show I have caught up and am in sync with the live airing.
Got a South Cook News in the mail moments ago. Now I know what responsible print journalism looks like again. With a slogan of “Real Data. Real News”, how could I go wrong? (Extreme Sarcasm).
After we voted yesterday, my husband came up with a good idea - early voters should be given a chip that automatically silences the TV whenever a political ad comes on.
===Should have given IL voters an option to pass on the stupid rebate===
Mine helped to get a freshly-evicted disabled person into shelter before the snows come.

Maybe this fiasco and study can somehow convince a Green-leaning candidate to run for Springfield Mayor early next year? Perhaps John Keating himself?
Stuck in Celliniland; Just curious if you have also posted as “disgruntled state employee” and “Academic Union State Employee” and “Union State Employee that isn’t AFSCME”? Very similar styles.

Except for those of us who work overnight, so we are working an extra hour rather than getting extra sleep.
I’m inclined to think this clock changing needs to be retired. But what are others thinking?

Unfortunately, that’s after sunset today, so probably not going to be able to get a good picture of Air Force One.

More proof that people will complain about literally everything, including a tax rebate to themselves.
