Tons, all from outside my district(s), and the numbers get immediately blocked. Curiously, with the exception of one from Sean Casten, they’ve all come from Republicans outside of Illinois.
Yes I am getting a lot of campaign texts. Mostly from states I have never lived in. In addition some of them refer to me by someone else’s name. A name that I have found listed in a internet search list of numbers and appears to me to go with the phone number one number greater than mine. So obviously people can’t read a list of numbers. I’ve blocked every number I’ve gotten a campaign text from.

I get a lot, but I also have the unfortunate circumstance of someone from Mattoon-Charleston that is a regular GOP voter/donor transposing a digit in their cellphone number on some form they filled out a few years ago. Ever since 2019, I have been getting regular very district-specific texts, despite me responding STOP to all of them and then blocking the number.
I know it’s a transposed number, too, because many of the texts include the intended recipient’s name and I eventually looked them up to see if they were real.
Esther Joy King sends me a couple of texts a week. I don’t live in her district. About the same time she started sending texts I began to get phone messages asking me to participate in phone surveys.
- Mr. Middle Ground - Friday, Nov 4, 22 @ 12:58 pm:
I have been getting roughly the same number of texts even though I was redistricted out of any competitive races. So I would guess others are receiving more.
I notified a significant drop in emails though. Looked through the junk folder and there are over one hundred in the last 7 days. Very few people are seeing those these days.
I don’t think I’ve received a single one. I am fortunate.

Several texts per day, all but one have been GOP oriented with school litter boxes and other anti-Pritzker idiocy in several of them. My former party is completely overrun with imbeciles.
One from JB and Lt Guv asking me to help again this election cycle. I did a lot of phone banking and doorknocking last round but received no simple “thanks,” so I politely declined. I realize this is on the local campaign office manager, but it still bugged me.
- Friendly Bob Adams - Friday, Nov 4, 22 @ 1:30 pm:
Not many texts. Maybe 1 a week. I use the STOP reply and none have sent a repeat text.
No texts, but my spam filter on my phone is doing a fantastic job of identifying political calls that I can send straight to VM.

It is bad, last cycle I was getting a ton of messages from Montana for a Claire, well last I checked that’s not my name. This year it’s New York, South Carolina, Texas, and random congressional and state rep candidates from places I have no connection to.
I’ve seen how bad some of the data is out there for these lists, and no candidate should pay for any of this trash data.
- Product of the '60's - Friday, Nov 4, 22 @ 2:10 pm:
NO texts, no e mails. Figure reason is I don’t do anything political, or charities on line, land or cell. All my political interaction is the old fashioned way….by mail….of course that means my mailbox has gotten lots and lots and lots of solicitations from candidates this election cycle.
Got a ton of donation texts from Aug - Oct but blocking a lot of #s and the campaigns switching to GOTV have thankfully stopped those.
Also got a couple of text reminders from locals to vote but I already had.

Been getting quite a few from out of state candidates addressing me as “Bob” despite my name not being Bob. Blocking them has reduced the volume as of late.

I get an average ofa half dozen per day, 7 days a week.
Fairly even split of Dem/GOP.
I use Google Messenger on Android and 99.9% of them automatically go into it’s spam folder without any intervention having been done on my part.

Have received multiple texts assuming I’m a voter in (1) DuPage Co. and (2) Wisconsin. I vote in Sangamon Co.
- Anonymous 103 - Friday, Nov 4, 22 @ 12:42 pm:
No, but I receive multiple emails a day with the same pleas for money.

Please send a wambulance to Ms. Lauf’s headquarters.

Yes and I delete every one of them immediately.

I’ve gotten exactly one text this season, which I presume was from FloriDan as it claimed a bunch of lies about the safe-t act.
I also received my first Proft paper yesterday, the Chicago City Wire. What a peach that one is

Conspiracy theorists, insurrection apologist and racist thinking… while also…”Every RINO & liberal in America”
Lauf is bad for this state and this country.
