Dick Bigger Jr. to appear on Jimmy Kimmel Live tonight
Tuesday, Nov 8, 2022 - Posted by Rich Miller * Background is here and here if you need it. I just got off the phone with Comptroller Susana Mendoza who told me that Jimmy Kimmel flew Dick Bigger, Jr. out to Los Angeles this morning and he’ll be on tonight’s show. Kimmel put him up for two days and will take him around LA tomorrow to show him the sights and then will fly him back on Thursday. Bigger, the Henderson County Democratic Chair, became a big hit almost as soon as Mendoza released a TV ad which contained a brief cameo. Both Kimmel and Stephen Colbert played the ad on their respective shows, and Colbert used some of the outtakes the campaign gave to us last month. Kimmel is apparently now upping the ante.

Bigger, Jr. deserves to be feted and celebrated
He is a hero, much respect, one who I’d like to shake his hand.
Good on him, and concur… Grand Marshall of a parade, state fair or not.

Bigger, Jr. may be remembered long after the state-wide Republican candidates are forgotten.
- Pundent - Tuesday, Nov 8, 22 @ 3:37 pm:
The Democratic party could use a lot more Dick Bigger Jr. and a lot less of a few others.
- Dan Johnson - Tuesday, Nov 8, 22 @ 3:44 pm:

- DHS Drone - Tuesday, Nov 8, 22 @ 3:46 pm:

It finally hit me who Dick Bigger reminds me of. Reilly from Norb Andy’s (and Rend Lake). Now he would have been something on national tv. Ugh, what was his first name?
- West Sider - Tuesday, Nov 8, 22 @ 4:00 pm:
At the Democratic County Chairs Brunch last August, I sat at a table in the back of the vast auditorium with Mr.Bigger. Next August, I’ll still be in the back, while I expect Mr. Bigger will be on stage.
- DuPage Saint - Tuesday, Nov 8, 22 @ 4:07 pm:

- Hot Taeks - Tuesday, Nov 8, 22 @ 4:33 pm:
Can someone tell me what Baseball team Mr. Bigger roots for? I have a disappointing feeling he pulls for the redbirds over the Northsiders.
- don the legend - Tuesday, Nov 8, 22 @ 4:36 pm:
Put side by side pictures of Mr. Bigger and Mr. Bailey and have a caption contest.
I’ll start: “Which one has the rougher hands?

Let the legend grow.
- Montrose - Tuesday, Nov 8, 22 @ 4:59 pm:
In a world of ugly partisan bickering and mudslinging, Dick Bigger Jr. is exactly what we all need right now.
- Lagertha's Shield - Tuesday, Nov 8, 22 @ 5:04 pm:
I think Colbert should have him and Mendoza on, and she could highlight how much better off state finances are now compared to a few years ago, spreading a little good news about Illinois.
- Jaded - Tuesday, Nov 8, 22 @ 5:18 pm:
Good for Bigger. This could effectively push Henderson County’s Kimmel viewership to double digits.
- H-W - Tuesday, Nov 8, 22 @ 5:42 pm:
In the Military, his name would be… Oh, nevermind.
- SOIL M - Tuesday, Nov 8, 22 @ 5:52 pm:

Terence McKenna had some very interesting thoughts/predictions around the topic of novelty…and the constant need (in humans) for “New”…expiring…we are nearly there?
