Lot’s of new GA Members with great potential to get Illinois going in a good direction this year.
Still celebrating University of Georgia in Athens GA Back to Back National Championships.
Good time to be a Dawg Dad.

Today will be a welcome break from the heavy lifting of Lame Duck.
And my goodness, the House has star in Bob Morgan.
@GiveMeABreak Lots of political capital has been wasted on promoting elected officials who have never faced electoral challenges. I’d pump the brakes on Bob Morgan for that reason. He has never faced a tough primary let alone a general election challenge.

Note about SB208: The bill requires all employees of any size (not employers with 5 or more as the subscriber edition said) to provide 5 days of paid leave.
Carbondale City Council has unanimously passed a “bubble” ordinance around Healthcare centers and clinics yesterday, modeled on a Chicago ordinance. Very thankful for the united support.
A few people spoke in favor and several against. A vast majority of attendees were in opposition and came from Coalition Life and local churches.
We’ve had issues with people screaming at patients whether they’re going to the reproductive health clinics or other places in the medical park, people using ladders to watch patients over fences, CoalitionLife has been advertising paid positions to protest the clinics, and they’ve had people setting up fake check-in stations outside.
How does that have anything to do with his legislative skills?
Another comment filed under: Some people will complain about literally anything.

And yet he just passed a huge heavy lifting bill. So what else you got?
- Staffers are unionizing? - Wednesday, Jan 11, 23 @ 10:29 am:
This got lost in the chaos of lame duck, but I think the 5th floor staffers unionizing is pretty interesting! Is CapFax going to cover any of that?

Bob Morgan conducted himself as a true statesman while presenting the bill and responding to questions. He respectfully responded to each inquiry. I would like to see more legislators adopt his demeanor.
I’m a little concerned about Rivian. My nephew is an engineer there and has been informing me of dysfunction. Then I read today about some executives leaving, including his boss in charge of engineering. I hope my fears are misguided.
I am recovering slowly from a stomach bug I had last week. My diet has been oatmeal and chicken soup. Finally branched out with a meal of grilled turkey breast yesterday. Hoping I can keep adding a little at a time to the diet without ill effect. Tortilla chips were a bridge too far. The salt nauseated me.

Just disgusting.
