Local chapter of League of Women Voters is holding a series of candidates’ forums this week. Tonight: city council and park district candidates. Of a total of 12, 8 of the candidates are write-ins. Weird.
The State of California announced it would stop contracting with Walgreens, since Walgreens decided not to offer the abortion pill in 20 conservative states. That decision on the left may have more impact than any coalition on the right so far.
If I were a Democratic elected official and asked to endorse the FOP / Awake Illinois / Charlie Kirk approved candidate in a race, I would have to assume the opponent was like an actual honest to goodness supervillain before I would even consider it.
My high school alma mater Bloomington Central Catholic (it was Trinity High in my time) defeated Pontiac Township High School 67-53 in the Springfield Class 2A Supersectional last night. I had mixed emotions about the outcome since I spent 20 years of my education career at PTHS. I did not know many players on both teams but recognized a lot of surnames. Sorry, Indians, but GO SAINTS!
@_H_W I hope it will have a chilling effect on Walgreens business. I, for one, will be taking my business elsewhere.

We’ve got sunshine…in the 60827. Hasn’t rained in several hours. First weeds trying to get organized; a few common houseflies seen about. Tiger lilies already sending up the start of their leaves (shoots?; I dunno, I’m no gardener). But all this beats politics this morning (sorry, Rich and Isabel, and greet Oscar for me please).

Homebody- I doubt that Jesse White is familiar with the connections you mention. It seems he has a generally favorable opinion of Vallas and is going with that.
The state of a California will ultimately pay more for meds as a result of its ill thought decision to eliminate competition. It’s the way it works. Always.

First poll of the runoff shows Vallas up 11% - sounds about right to me. But what do I know?

Thanks, yeah, tough loss, but it’s been a great round of games, catching up on the IHSA website.
Baseball at both schools should be interesting with so much talent gone from last year, the Sox picking up some last draft.
Be well.
