Councilor Killman here in Carbondale will be introducing a proposal to establish a Human Rights Title under the city code. Will be discussed at the July 11 meeting.

Japanese beetles are wrecking havoc in our gardens here in the 217. They are destroying rose buds, Zinnas and totally leaving our cherry trees left with skeletonized leaves.
WMAY will now be 100% right wing bs. Frank McNeil is also leaving. The stories coming from there right now is insane. I give it a year and it will go away, very sad.
There was some kind of fairly big flash mob / takeover event near the Belmont Red Line stop last night in Chicago, but it’s hard finding any media coverage of it yet for except right-wing online sources which I’m disinclined to trust.

With this smoke, I feel like I’m at a campfire I can’t get away from.
I came to Iowa for my niece’s wedding on the 17th of June and deemed it more disruptive to my work to go home than to stay. Have I been grateful these last days to have clean air! Returning after the 4th though.

Just read a story concerning low peach crop for southern Illinois this year. Bummer, love me some peaches, but man, they are a finicky fruit.
