Just risking life and limb so the GA members can get their per diem in this awful weather.

  2. - FIREDup! - Tuesday, Jan 16, 24 @ 8:29 am:

Everyone’s home with their kids today since school I canceled in half the state.

  3. - Proud Papa Bear - Tuesday, Jan 16, 24 @ 8:32 am:

I’m pretty excited that we might crack zero today.

  4. - cermak_rd - Tuesday, Jan 16, 24 @ 8:51 am:

Yesterday in Berwyn it got up to 2F and I was like wow! Heatwave. It certainly felt warmer than the -8.

  5. - hisgirlfriday - Tuesday, Jan 16, 24 @ 8:53 am:

Wishing Adam Kinzinger had stuck around Illinois so he could primary Darin LaHood…

What was the point of doing all that work to bolster DeSantis last year only to knife him in the end?

  6. - Phineas - Tuesday, Jan 16, 24 @ 9:00 am:

e-Learning in full force today. Wifi holding up so far

  7. - Friendly Bob Adams - Tuesday, Jan 16, 24 @ 9:01 am:

Promised myself I would get to the gym today if it gets above zero. So, like a 50-50 chance…

  8. - TinyDancer(FKASue) - Tuesday, Jan 16, 24 @ 9:04 am:

Will stay warm today eating the chicken soup I made yesterday.

  9. - Steve - Tuesday, Jan 16, 24 @ 9:04 am:

Be careful charging up your EV. It might take longer than you think.

  10. - historic66 - Tuesday, Jan 16, 24 @ 9:08 am:

It’s an e-learning day here. The forecast predicts a high of 32 for me tomorrow. Time to break out the shorts!

  11. - a drop in - Tuesday, Jan 16, 24 @ 9:21 am:

Last few days my dog is setting land speed records outside doing his business.

  12. - Cool Papa Bell - Tuesday, Jan 16, 24 @ 9:33 am:

Impressed with the job IDOT and other snow crews did around the state. Traveled to Chicago on Saturday was expecting some rough roads and they were in really great shape the whole weekend.

  13. - The Dude Abides - Tuesday, Jan 16, 24 @ 9:37 am:

    Re: Friendly Bob

I need to get there regardless, as I had to skip yesterday due to the holiday. Was crowded as hell last week, hoping for a smaller crowd today.

  14. - Skeptic - Tuesday, Jan 16, 24 @ 9:40 am:

Took the mail out to the mailbox and dumped the compost bucket on the pile. That’s enough of that for today.

  15. - MG85 - Tuesday, Jan 16, 24 @ 9:53 am:

It’s cold as the dickens here. Plus, teachers are wizard miracle workers who are doing amazing things over e-learning.

  16. - Macon Bakin - Tuesday, Jan 16, 24 @ 10:00 am:

I don’t know, I just moved to Decatur.

  17. - Homebody - Tuesday, Jan 16, 24 @ 10:51 am:

Biked to the gym yesterday while it was light out in 0 degree weather. Not sure I want to do the same thing at night after work today.

  18. - Huh? - Tuesday, Jan 16, 24 @ 10:55 am:

    “Impressed with the job IDOT”

Um. No. Saturday and Sunday I tried to get to my cabin in the woods. State marked roads were snow covered and icy, including I80, I39, and I180.

On Sunday, I was on I80 east of Princeton, what irked me most was an IDOT snow plow driving in a mostly clear right lane with the plow down and spreading salt. The left lane was snow covered.

Marshall County roads were significantly better than any of the State routes I drove on.

  19. - thisjustinagain - Tuesday, Jan 16, 24 @ 12:00 pm:

Hey, Hey. The temp went to 0 today in the 60827 so far. Still seeing ice-covered lanes on some local 4-lane streets, but these are a mix of local/IDOT/Cook County jurisdicition roads.

  20. - Aalia - Tuesday, Jan 16, 24 @ 12:14 pm:

Anita Padilla on Kass re looting in the aftermath of the George Floyd killing “that is the one section of Chicago that did not get destroyed.” her description of the result of the Latin Kings protecting Little Village. Anita, another person now in Florida trying to paint a picture of Chicago that is not accurate. like the entire city was destroyed. what the…

Looks like the freedom Caucus should be named The Self Preservation Caucus. Boy what a bunch of spineless wonders. BE FOR SOMETHING! Stand up for some principle. You people are the laughing stock of the state!

  22. - Amalia - Tuesday, Jan 16, 24 @ 1:33 pm:

sorry 12:14 was me. stiff hands typing.
