High winds, tornados, hail hits our area — yet ComEd stayed up and connected for over 99% of customers, and have recovered almost everybody by this morning.
Many of the corporate investors in data centers and high tech industries have told me they consider N. Illinois as one of the best locales for expansion in the world, because of the strength of our electric grid. It’s also key our future economy. Thank you ComEd.
ComEd seems to have faired quite well from the storm last night, now if they could just finish with their billing system upgrade and issue my bill that is over a week late.
for an appropriate scare search twitter for pix of the storm last night. it’s not just the tornado pix it’s the cloud formations. deeply frightening and this is the weird looking trend now. at least the moon over the lake looked great after the storm.
“…now if they could just finish with their billing system upgrade and issue my bill that is over a week late.”
I finally got my bill today, and it appears they pushed back the due date to account for the billing delay. I saw on ComEd’s website that customers would not be charged late fees for any delays due to their system upgrades.

Just listened to the attack ad levied against Dave Severin in the 116th race.
It’s above and beyond what a parody would sound like.
=Great sendoff for Tom Skilling yesterday and today, tho=
Amen to that. The king of weather will be missed. And a very funny guy. If yo have not watched any of the bits the morning news team did with Skilling they are worth the watch. My favorite is when he says ” I am Tom (bleeping) Skilling, I can have you killed.)
I use the WGN Weather app. It’s quite good. It used to notify me of severe weather approaching with Mr. Skilling’s voice. “This is Tom Skilling - severe weather is headed for your area…!” I miss that. (It was discontinued at the time of or before he announced his retirement.)
