Waiting for the County Clerks Office to call so I can let them into a polling place to set up for tomorrow.

Was hoping for some Irish music for our enjoyment on the Friday before St. Patrick’s weekend. Didn’t have to be traditional or syrupy ballads, any of the tunes played at Shane MacGowan’s funeral would have been just brilliant.
Many of us are happy that the Bost-Bailey farce is almost over. That happiness changes to despair when we realize that one of them will continue to represent us in the halls of Congress.
when your supporters create the fiction that a candidate is drunk at a parade and elected officials retweet the fiction and you tweet referring to lots of talk about your opponent tonight, your candidacy Clayton Harris has officially entered the wildly irresponsible desperate zone.
A DeKalb alderman resigned late last week and used “health” as his reason. However, his residency in the ward has been disputed since an eviction in January, and also last week the head of the county Dems issued a press release condemning the same alderman’s use of the n-word.
This has to be the last time for many Bears fans to put up with another failed 1st round QB draft (Fields). In other words, the upcoming Williams draft absolutely has to succeed. If that fails like Trubisky and Fields—maybe Williams would wind up on the Steelers too.
For the miniscule return the Bears got on Fields they could have just kept him for ‘24 as low-cost insurance. He doesn’t strike me as one who would create trouble for Caleb Williams. A conditional sixth rounder is a terrible return.
===A conditional sixth rounder is a terrible return===
If we take Ryan Poles at his word, the Fields trade was more about helping Fields get on his feet and continue his development. If that truly is the case, then Poles is telling his team he has their back. That is worth something for team chemistry. The pessimist in me says there was no value in Fields, and he got what he could.
Pulling hard for the Illini in the tournament, but my “age-old” adage to doubt any Big Ten team in March Madness has yet to be a bad idea this literal millennium.
Initial gut’s thinking Creighton over Arizona in the final. Fully expect to be completely wrong as usual aside from the Big Ten doubting.

=Is Ryan Poles the GM of the Bears or the assistant GM of the Steelers?=
The league spoke, man. Teams were out there signing Gardner Minshew and Jacoby Brissett rather than trading for Fields. That pretty much tells you what you need to know.
The High Kings, a pretty good Irish Band, were at the House of Blues in Chicago. I wish I could have been there to see them. They do lots of traditional and modern music. I really like their harmonies too. Was at our lunch cal Irish style pub on Saturday and Sunday. It was crazy packed on Saturday after our parade.
The Bears were sellers in a buyer’s market and Fields didn’t grade out as a starter. We’ll see if he realizes his potential. The circumstances didn’t exist in Chicago for that.
It was brought up during our training a couple weeks ago that Election Judges should plan to bring their own breakfast, lunch and dinners since precinct captains and local parties have alleviated themselves of those duties.
Ryan Poles is not Justin Fields friend. He should have held on until a team needed a quarterback. He gave up a terrific athlete for nothing. And if Caleb Williams goes down injured, and Justin Fields is good in Pittsburgh, heaven help him.

It was heartening to see the Illini play well in the last 5 minutes of their recent games. Earlier in the year they folded regularly.
They should be able to get through the first weekend of the tournament. Not sure they could beat UConn to get to the final four, though.
Iris Martinez did a mailer with the wrong punch number. Hurts her argument of being able to maintain records.

I think that’s true as well, but I’m not as certain about how fans would handle it - he had a *very* vocal contingent of supporters. The noise would’ve been bad. And as someone else mentioned, this trade showed the players that Poles has their backs.

Great weekend for the Illini. Coming from behind double digits in all three games to win the B1G tournament. Now, onto the big show with a 3-seed.
I know its not Illinois-related, but Terre Haute is close enough–Indiana State got ripped off.

Ask the players if the trade made them feel that way. Many of the players supported Fields.
