We had Grape sized hail in southern Douglas county last night. I had to leave for work this morning while it was still dark, I’m hoping I don’t get home this evening to a mess.
@Keyrock, there’s several postings on the eclipse out there which show the forecast, multiple forecasts. If you can drive somewhere check weather every day. one site I saw had clouds in Texas which was supposed to be the best view. fingers crossed for some easy drive to see it. 2017 one of my best life experiences.
From the last post before break:
===“IVF is morally dubious and should not be subsidized by the American taxpayer. It is well known that IVF treatments result in a surplus of embryos after the best ones are tested and selected. These embryos are then frozen — at significant cost to the parents — abandoned, or cruelly discarded,” the lawmakers wrote.===
So you want to ban something because some people do not use it “correctly” even though there are legitimate applications. I seem to recall a certain argument by certain NRA types advocating that certain devices/procedures are not the problem, just the people using them.
Looking for a roundup of past Illinois elected officials who have gone on to elected office in other states– this is from Allen Skillicorn’s “success” in Arizona
In addition, Jeanette Ward, who had been an elected U46 school board member but lost in 2019, and then lost a close State Senate election in 2020, now an elected member of the Wyoming state house.
I spent the weekend helping out at the FIRST Robotics Midwest Regional at UIC.
Congressman Danny Davis spoke to everyone on the last day, and I have to say he gave a good speech (it may have been one he gave a billion times) about STEM and not giving up.

Wondering whether it will be sunny or cloudy the afternoon of the eclipse. The forecast says “partly cloudy.”

White Sox 0-3. Total disaster of a season ahead.
No new ballpark without a change in ownership.

Thanks, Amalia. I’m keeping my eye on the forecasts. I don’t want to drive more than 4 hours from Chicago.

Agree not a lot of positives out of the first weekend of the White Sox season, other than Crochet’s first start.
And then of course Eloy gets hurt jogging to first base.

But he came across as sharp and interested.
