Champaign School Board deadlock only gets worse as it heads into the lame duck session. With one vacancy remaining after a series of resignations, the board remains deadlocked on even having a meeting.
Earlier this year the president took “Approval of the Agenda” off the agenda, as that was even too contentious. Another faction has been calling for the newly elected board to be seated, sooner rather than later… and blocking quorum.
Pretty pleasant to watch Canadian election coverage last night and how fairly tame and tempered everything seemed compared to what our norms have been the past few cycles.
Name of the night, independent candidate in Quebec with the most bureaucratic name imaginable: Noémi Bureau-Civil.
Is the Spain power problems a preview of IL after 2040? Relying on renewables & a couple of nuclear plants is not going to power IL.

The answer to techman’s question is “No.” It’s not a preview as Illinois’ position on renewable energy doesn’t appear to have anything to do with what happened in Spain.
re: windy spring… If the TV weatherman says it will be “breezy” tomorrow - be prepared to hold on to something stable when outside. If he says it will be “windy”, don’t go outside.

Thoughts and prayers for all those in Chatham. What a horrible tragedy. Give everyone around you an extra hug and our time here is precious.

I have never experienced such a constantly windy summer before. Is there a particular reason for it?

You all are awfully quiet about JB’s speech yesterday. Can’t imagine why.

I wonder if JB is auditioning for the Corey Booker VP spot.

It’s spring. Just wait until summer.

JB loves that he got under Trump’s skin with the “mass protests” line.

Pray for all in the community of Chatham.

There’s a whole post on it. What is wrong with you? Also, I did a thing for subscribers today.
Bite me.

Regarding the wind, apparently it’s a national issue & it’s the windiest it’s been in 50 years.
