I’m not complaining in the slightest but I was shocked yesterday when I got my homeowners insurance renewal in Kankakee County. Insurance went up by 20% and 30% over the last couple years but this year my renewal went DOWN by 20%. I never expected it go down at all, let alone down by 20% over last year.
I got on the train w/Cubs having tied it up & going into the 10th. I get off the train and we trail 13-5. Our new ‘grandpa’ has got to go. Porter for closer, please.
After watching last night’s Springfield City Council meeting and also as a resident of Chatham, all I can say is: Please move the Frito-Lay proposed distribution Center off Palm Road and into Ward 2. Chatham doesn’t want this literally as we enter into the Village from the east off 55. Traffic is super busy enough down here anyway.
I just wanted to give a shout-out to my friend, Edwin Eisendrath, for showing us all what empathy and compassion look like. We can’t all do this, but all of us can do something to acknowledge the humanity of our neighbors.

It seems like every time there is a tiny ray of optimism for the White Sox, they throw a game down the drain like last night.

The Chicago Jazz Festival line-up at the Pritzker Pavilion has been announced and it looks epic: https://www.chicago.gov/city/en/depts/dca/supp_info/chicago_jazz_festival5.html
Can’t wait to see who will be performing during the day. I’ve just blocked off the entire weekend.
