Glad to have sane news back. This weekend was particularly alarming at the national level.

Sly and the Family Stone.
Wow. Memories.
I was at the 1970 Grant Park “concert.”
South end of park - near Field museum.
They were late and the crowd went wild - throwing stuff, etc.
Someone climbed on top of the bandshell and started ripping the tiles off.
Got out of there as fast as we could.
Worse than 1968 DNC Lincoln Park riot - I was there, also.
miss you always, the plural cause Is is wonderful. And when the news broke about Sly, knew it would be featured here. With Sly it was the music and the race and sex mix of the band was notable. It was different and such fantastic music. Dance to the Music (banned punctuation)
Always miss you two. I’m not sure the high-level governor staffer you mentioned in the fax this morning has it right about the protesters in LA. My take is that most Americans don’t like it when people throw rocks at innocent civilians.
City of Chicago had a series of storms last month.
Forestry Department still has not completed the work of removing downed tree limbs. The high winds sheared off many branches and limbs.

Welcome back, Rich.
Ditto “Everyday People,” the entire Stand! album, released in 1969 was way ahead of its time:
Stand, they will try to make you crawl
And they know what you’re sayin’ makes sense at all
Stand, don’t you know that you are free
Well, at least in your mind if you want to be

On Sunday I made it to Charles Mound, the highest point in Illinois. It’s on private property and accessible only about five weekends per year.

RIP Sly. The documentary “Sly Lives!” is on Hulu. Much better than the typical music documentary.

I did miss you, but hope you both had a lovely long weekend.

Saw a thing in the Plainfield patch about a restaurant giving up its video gaming license since the machines were not being used.

Hate it when you take ‘Snow Days”, but I respect Team Capt Fax are people too. Opted to play a golf outing to fill the time. Sad to see Sly’s passing.

“What is the banned punctuation?”
Oddly, it is the mark that appears after ‘funk’ in Dotnonymous’ post.
