The main branch of the Normal Public Library is finally set to reopen after extensive renovations over the past quite a while. Even as just an excuse to not be outside in the heat, going to have to take our son to check out the old new place.

Big thanks to ComEd workers coming out in the heat and middle of the night to repair blackouts.
First it was the supposedly “new and improved” GA site.
Now it’s the press release thingy on Illinois.gov that’s having problems. Even though the State Press Releases news feed on this site shows the releases. You try to click the link containing the PR and all I have been getting the last two days is “Site Not Available.”
@BlueDog unfortunately not - my block falls under Chicago’s RS-3 zoning designation, but many buildings on the block are nonconforming multifamily buildings. Many 3 flats, even 4+ unit buildings mixed in with newer single family homes.

We’re now on day 24,893 of my ADU (a 2,600 square foot coach house) being illegal to build as new construction in Chicago and most of Illinois.

Goodbye to Hulk Hogan.
Very entertaining celebrity. I wish that he would have wrestled Jesse Ventura when they were both in their prime.

Hulk Hogan’s sorry epitaph?… “Let Trumpmania run wild, brother!”

I would not have thought that the creative team that brought us Cannibal! The Musical would become the vanguard of the 1st Amendment.
I bet they didn’t think they would either.
