Has anyone heard anything official about Lincoln Cab here in Springfield supposedly shutting down at the end of business yesterday?
Yesterday and Monday I saw Facebook posts saying they were “shutting down for good at the end of the day Tuesday at 6PM.” But I don’t see anything mentioned in at least the SJR, Illinois Times (including Springfield Business Journal) or Channel 20.
Even 10 years ago, a shutdown of a key transportation service for many area residents would have been announced before the fact on local media. I feel for the people finding out the hard way. Looks like if Lincoln Cab has indeed shut down, all that’s left for public non-bus, non-train transportation in the area is Uber and Lyft. Not good.
@Aaron B - probably true. Another issue with the new website is the use of third party sites that could bring ILGA down - the old site didn’t use third party sites to generate its website pages.
It looks like Azure issue didn’t start until late morning or noon - ILGA website was down early morning - LIS never communicates when it is having issues/updates like LIS used to on the old website.

@PeoriaLady I would assume it is probably related to the ongoing issues with Microsoft Azure but not positive.
