Thanking God that I don’t have to travel for the holiday. Family members, on both sides, are all located within 5 miles of my house.

The KK Rider Story is one of Todd’s best. I showed it in class yesterday because KK lives about 10 miles from the school in southern Illinois. Also Todd said this about Carbondale: “A few years ago I found myself in a hard little town called Carbondale, Illinois. I quickly realized we were in a tough city, and in one of its toughest clubs.” He left abruptly during his show at PK’s about a decade ago because I think it was, ah, too up close and personal. In other news, public awareness and potential opposition is growing to a very large data center project already approved by the Grayslake board with very little fanfare. Should be a fun December!

A relative is a first responder who has to work Thanksgiving, so we’re postponing the meal until later when he can attend.

Heading to Springfield to get my 90yr old MIL so she can have Thanksgiving with the grandkids and great grand kid.
She still drives, just renewed her license but doesn’t like to drive far.

Going to visit friend with two Huskies and three cats. Last year I got a dog nose in my ear while on a couch. Heckkin’ nuisances. Hmph.

We’re making dinner in our home in the city, the first thanksgiving here since we closed on it December 2023. It’s even more special given that our property tax bill showed up the week before the holiday, only 2 1/2 months late. With a 22.4% increase. But hey, on a positive note, 56% of that went to education and 1.6% went to improve public safety.
