…Adding… A campaign fund backed by our billionaire governor claims rich interests are trying to buy a US Senate seat for Raja Krishnamoorthi, who is, the PAC says, “for sale”…
A Senate seat shouldn’t be for sale.
But MAGA donors and Crypto lobbyists are trying to buy one.
They’re spending millions to stop Juliana Stratton, the only candidate endorsed by Governor JB Pritzker and Senator Tammy Duckworth.
Raja Krisnamoorthi is backed by the MAGA donors and Crypto lobbyists, and he took thousands from an ICE contractor.
Because Raja’s not for us, he’s for sale.
I am not an expert of politics. But I do get the feeling Stratton started too late, and may lose. She should have jumped into the fray earlier than she did. Raja, for better or worse has established his name among the voters. His opponents at this point have not done so. Perhaps Stratton assumed early that people will know her name when they see it, but she wasn’t visible early on in the primary season. For many voters who go to the polls, they will simply see a lot of new names beside Raja on the democrat primary ballot.
Raja’s folks are paying attention to the trend in everyone’s polls. I don’t think Stratton’s ad is the message I would have gone with, but it is refreshing to see a candidate go negative with their name attached instead of dropping their desired negative ad on their media page so that the independent committee they aren’t coordinating can run that ad. It is a good negative ad. I think it ties into the numbers trend very well.
Steve Powell needs a title beyond “labor leader.” Especially since he’s driving the point of the message home. This ad isn’t for the folks who already know who he is.
I think Raja’s response is a miss. In the closing week of the campaign I think it would have been better to have Raja making Raja’s case to the voters. Make us want to pick you as our fighter. I’m not sure I would want that case being made by three other people that the campaign has to introduce to a majority of the audience.
I think Raja’s response is a hit. Maybe not a homer, but a hit nonetheless. The race was always going to tighten. I mean, if the Stratton folks and her Super Pacs couldn’t with the amount of money she has been given, it would be malpractice.I still think advantage goes to Raja as his team really hasn’t misstepeped. The mistake with the Stratton folks was waiting this long and allowing Raja to get such a lead. Maybe she closes the sale, but with two African American women in the race, it will be hard. Very hard.
Not only started to late, but with too little. The MAGA stuff is the new boogey man. Not clear this works in IL. Raja does not seem very MAGA to us. Lotta votes already cast. TikTok

Raja is definitely worried about Stratton now, and I wonder how much he really needs to be.

I’d like to know if there are any other votes Raja has made that Stratton’s campaign finds objectionable?
