Today, JB For Governor released new TV ads, called “Told You” and “Betty,” highlighting Governor JB Pritzker’s record of delivering on his promises to bring major investments and jobs to Chicago’s Southeast Side after the community waited more than three decades for an economic revival.
The 30-second and 60-second ads feature South Side residents speaking in their own words about what decades of broken promises felt like — and what it means to finally have Gov. Pritzker keep his promise and deliver for their community. The ads highlight the transformation of the long-vacant U.S. Steel South Works site into a massive quantum computing campus, delivering jobs and career opportunities.
In 1992, hundreds of workers lost their jobs after the U.S. Steel South Works mill closed – leaving the community with a deep economic wound. For over three decades, the space sat vacant despite its incredible potential. Many promises and proposals floated around, but all of them fell through — until Gov. Pritzker delivered for the community and the entire state.
The ads will air on Chicago broadcast and cable television, as well as on digital platforms.
This whole project is going to be a game changer for the southside. I don’t think this city or state will ever experience a bigger economic development opportunity given the potential for quantum. The gov had the vision for this. Enthusiastic A
These are both good ads. I’ll give them both a B+. They’re good, not excellent. The governor is a popular incumbent running against a punchline from the winner of the GOP’s least funny joke contest. No idea what his internals look like, but it is probably a good idea to remind everyone what the Governor has done in the last 8 years. When was the last time we had a Governor serve for a full two year term? Edgar?
These are what ads should look like for a re-election campaign for a popular incumbent who isn’t on their way to prison or had a whole bunch of their staff indicted.
Good job.
One minor note: If the copy says “rolled up his sleeves” consider the ad actually showing the governor with sleeves rolled up.
We’re not going to cut gas taxes, we’re not going to fix property taxes, and energy bills are going through the roof on our watch….so let’s talk about quantum! The arrogance campaign continues.

To the post, I think both ads are good. A little softball since they play to people already likely to vote for him (which, I know, would be most of his ads) (in a good way). But foundational/informational and fine.
