Madigan basically handed them these negative stories
Wednesday, Jun 22, 2016 - Posted by Rich Miller * Speaker Madigan just plain blundered when he announced on the last day of spring session that the House would meet every Wednesday throughout June. Check out this TV news highlight (or, more accurately, “lowlight”) reel supplied by the Republicans… “A spokesperson told us he couldn’t track down the Speaker, either.” Brutal. * Last week’s edition… Ouch. * Meanwhile, Madigan’s members are back in their districts attempting to explain to constituents why their leader broke his promise. That cannot be an easy task in this environment.

Lousy idea, but a decent video
Wednesday, Jun 22, 2016 - Posted by Rich Miller * Gubernatorial recall is a stupid, spitting-into-the-wind, utter waste of time idea. It’s practically impossible to accomplish with the constitutional amendment voters approved. I’ve even banned the word in comments (and it’s still banned, so don’t try to “debate” it today, either) because it’s usually only mentioned by ignorant, hyperpartisan, hyperbolic goofballs (and that goes for Quinn’s administration, too). But the video isn’t bad for what appears to be an amateur production… Ouch.

Dems hit for taking break at “taxpayer’s expense”
Wednesday, Jun 22, 2016 - Posted by Rich Miller * From the Illinois Republican Party…
As subscribers know, those “ready-to-go bills” aren’t actually ready because college-town legislators (including Republicans) wanted more higher ed spending. * Listen… * Sample script…
Yingling doesn’t look like he has much of a tan. And I didn’t see any beach pics, either. And claiming he’s somehow vacationing at taxpayers’ expense? How is that even close to being true? Gonna be a long season, campers.
