Many current General Assembly members who have gotten us into the financial mess we are now in, will be reelected. Why would we vote to return any of them to office?
I was thinking that the image of Plummer riding a go kart would ALMOST be as funny as the pony image. At least with the pony he could be wearing a cowboy hat. With the go kart he could wear aviator goggles.
Registered voter who promises they will not vote for your candidate if they receive one more call from your campaign will receive additional calls and still vote for your candidate.
The biggest surprise for me will be if Ohio results are available within 14 days of the election. We may not know the results of POTUS for weeks, unless Romney fulfills my 53% projection and takes other “toss-up” states.
States the Romney camp believes are theirs like Florida and North Carolina go down to the wire with probably Florida slipping back to the president. Others which Republicans have been spinning as this/close like PA, MN and MI will be easy Obama wins.
The surprise to some will be a poor showing by Illinois Dems at the Congressional level.
Other than Duckworth, the GOP holds. Schilling wins. Dold wins. On a map where Dems could have picked up four, they are at best up one.
The other surprise is that Madigan learns that money is not enough. He needs good candidates and he needs to show good government results and this time he has neither. McSweeney and Skip both win.
Perhaps you should inform yourself about the new absentee ballot laws in Ohio. This year, every registered voter received an absentee ballot request. There will be a large number of provisional ballots cast by people who may or may not have voted absentee. By law, provisional ballots cannot be opened before 10 days after the election, and then they need to be resolved against absentee ballots.
I was going to say two weeks before reading Cncinnatus’ answer. W won’t know the POTUS answer for two weeks … and not just over Ohio.
There will be so many close states that the lawsuits and recounts will make the previous Florida mess look like a walk in the park. Both sides have lawyers ready to go in almost all of the states that are even close. The MSM is full of stories about it.
The 47% actually do something and vote against Romney. (snark)
Janesville, Wi. goes for Obama
Martin Sandoval and Luis do the Quangman dance at his victory party. Then they take it on the road to any GOP election night party they can.
The POTUS election results cannot be called in New York and New Jersey as voters cannot get to the polls and some are not even able to open. (Seriously and not meant to be funny. And probably not a surprise.)
Off topic a bit - but the SJR had an article that there has been a surprising jump in bass numbers in Lake Springfield lately. They attribute this to the presence of more structure on the Lake’s bottom. Boats and the like. LOL

Cincy, I admire the fact that you can handle the cognitive dissonance of simultaneously maintaining that Romney will get 53% of the national vote, yet the election won’t be called for two weeks.
I can’t believe I’m agreeing with Cincy on this, but I don’t think he’s totally offbase. It wouldn’t surprise me to have a long delay from Ohio. I know of one Dem lawyer from IL who took a month-long LoA and has been in OH for two weeks already.
That said, Newsmax doesn’t actually have news on it, it specializes in conspiracy fear mongering. I rank it on par with WorldNewsDaily in tinfoil hattery.
My two shockers for the GOP: Kathy Smith and Mike McElroy win in squeakers.
My two shockers for the Dems: Kathleen Willis and Sam Yingling win in squeakers.
I don’t want to call anything a surprise at the federal levels. The polls are all so close and the money is so vast that I would not be surprised if Joe Walsh won and Bobby Schilling or Rodney Davis lost. I don’t see Obama losing Illinois, but I also can see him underperforming the polls and bit and costing some Congressional candidates votes.
Romney will demand a recount based on uncounted or miscounted votes in a swing state that decides the electoral college and lo and behold, the US Supreme Court will allow the recount to go forward tating, “We are not bound by precedent.”
The number of new “Willy” names that will grace CapFax….
Biggest Suprise(s) - MJM will now have seats in DuPage & Kendall Counties for the LONG HALL.
Tom Cross & I are actually golfing TOGETHER on Electon Day and Jason Plummer & I plan a Spring Break trip that will “beat the drum”
Saviano wins, but the shocker will be, Saviano takes an even greater role in HGOP business like no one has seen him do, and I mean an even greater roll than we can imagine.
I turn down a 2nd Cannoli …
Many GOP regulars, on Election Nite itself, will ask for Pat Brady to step down, not even giving Pat the opportunity for a graceful exit.
Watch Radogno, her reaction to what is happening and how it goes down - What is Suprising will be that she may be the only voice, and we might see the Caucus melt away, and melt away from her, in real time.
In Illinois, would it be a surprise if David Gill won? I know that district is more Democratic than before, but when was the last time a perennial candidate won a seat in Congress? It has to be pretty rare.
I think the right wingers will actually be VERY surprised that Obama wins re-election. Their media is constantly telling them that there is no way Obama wins - that no one in their right mind will vote for Obama, and their polls consistently show that Obama will lose. Of course, their media doesn’t say Mitt will win, their media says Obama will lose. That’s playing not to lose…which in the end isn’t very wise. So on Wednesday morning, there will be a lot of very surprised right wingers. Even though some, like Chubbs Christie seem to see the writing on the wall.
It won’t be any surprise that they’ll be blaming the liberal media…and voter fraud…and probably Sandy…and everything else under the sun.
My advice to them…hide your guns now while there’s still time.

Oberweis does NOT announce his candidacy for 2014 Governor on Election Night 2012. Instead, “everywhere” he goes, people ask him to run and he waits two whole weeks before starting another gubernatorial run.
“Long HALL”, greater “roll”? Sheesh.
The only “William” that could pull that off would have been “William the Conqueror” and he took over England and I would have to take over all of Kendall…tough ask, but maybe a surprise!
One state will require a recount. It will start properly following the rules of its own courts. Justice Scalia will immediately issue an injunction to force the locals to stop recounting. Weeks will go by with lawyers making millions on both sides. The case will hit the Supremes and Scalia will write the majority opinion, using as one key argument supporting a GOP win, that the recount was not completed on time to meet the Constitutional requirements.
Slightly off topic, but I early voted today (very long line) and read the Constitutional Amendment word-for-word for the 1st time and was a little confused by it.
