“I take back any snark I directed to Ricketts because he turned Wrigley into Disneyland.”
I was fortunate enough to attend the Wednesday game. Having not been to Wrigley in more than a decade I was blown away with the transformation of the facility. The peeling paint and drab interior has given way to a facility that beautifully preserves the historic aspects of one of baseball’s last iconic structures.
Love my Cubs, love to see them win, but I am still boycotting them until/either the Ricketts are gone or they stop using the money they make from the Cubs to fund hate against my family and others.
===Harry Caray and WGN Superstation also helped turn Wrigley into Disneyland long before the Ricketts entered the picture.===
Mr. Donut, a McDonalds, and blocks full of neighborhood divebars is your idea of Disneyland?
I’m kind of miffed that MLB scheduled a west coast game (Dodgers-Phillies) before a central time zone game. I watched it with my kids last night and we were dragging this morning. Happy but tired.
First pitch in LA yesterday was at 3pm local time. They could have started the Cubs game at 4pm in Chicago and then the Dodgers would have played at 6pm local time. Doesn’t make sense to me.

I have a theory that all the terrible things that have gone on since 2016 are because the Cubs won in 2016 and opened a hole in the multiverse or otherwise broke the space time continuum. If TV drama science is correct, then winning the World Series again might close the dimensional tear and restore a more normal world.
@47th, MLB explained that if a game five, then the travel after the Dodgers game would make a Philadelphia arrival around 5 AM and that is not something they wanted to put the players through when it could be easily avoided.
With the day game playoff games on workdays I started listening to Pat and Ron on the radio again for the first time in a few years and last night I put them on synced up with the TV. So much better than the national broadcasters and I was thinking last night how lucky us Cubs fans are to have them. It’s special how a baseball radio broadcast can make you feel like you’re hanging out with friends or listening in on a fun conversation at the bar. So glad the Cubs gave me at least one more day in 2025 to spend time with them. And man it was night and day seeing what the crowd was like for the Dodgers game vs. Wrigley’s electricity. Good job, fans.

Someone suggested that the Cubs send PCA to the plate without a bat and dare the Miz to throw three strikes.
Nothing like this atmosphere will be happening at Cominskey Field any time soon. Sox and for that matter Bulls and Blackhawks are in perennial rebuild mode. Sad but true.

Great fun to watch this team defy the odds!
Onto game 5!

Could hear the cheers clear as day from my balcony a mile away. Was fun to hear the roar then catch the action on tv 20 seconds later.

That was a fun game. The Cubs have had a successful year, getting this far and pushing a better team in the standings to the brink of elimination.

Those “spoilers” would drive me nuts.

Didn’t even breath easy until more than 5 runs ahead. Those darn Brewers are sneaky dangerous at producing runs. Pitching came thru big time.

I was wearing earplugs the whole game.
Hate the Ricketts, but grabbed 2 tickets at the last minute and have to admit (even for a Sox fan) it was a lot of fun.

Can’t you just simply enjoy an MLB thread without the virtue signaling? You must be a lot of fun at parties.
