Work for the State Of Illinois… Merit Comp..
I will not be compensated for today… Volunteering my time.

  7. - illinifan - Monday, May 27, 13 @ 11:46 am:

Working at home. Have a major deadline for the state and work is due Friday. Thought I had it done before the holiday but was told of last minute changes on Friday. So much for trying to work ahead of schedule when others have input on the work

  8. - wordslinger - Monday, May 27, 13 @ 11:46 am:

    No, it’s a real holiday.

Slept late, went to the parade. A war movie, a little yard work, fire up the grill when my boys get back from Indy, then try not to stroke out during the Hawks game.

  29. - Chicago Cynic - Monday, May 27, 13 @ 2:28 pm:

  30. - dupage dan - Monday, May 27, 13 @ 2:32 pm:

Not working. I spend every Memorial Day weekendwith family in Wisc. We have attended services held at a local cemetery conducted by the American Legion & VFW for many years. It is the first year Ms dupage dan and I attend as parents of a newly minted United States Marine. We go with my sister who has a son and daughter who are both active service members (Army).

  31. - G. Willickers - Monday, May 27, 13 @ 2:46 pm:

    Define “work.”

Did a bunch of volunteer work this morn to make sure veterans celebrations went off without a hitch.

At home with family warming up now.

  32. - walkinfool - Monday, May 27, 13 @ 2:46 pm:

  41. - reformer - Monday, May 27, 13 @ 6:25 pm:

The 60%-40% working to not working tells us something about the CF blog readership. Lots of legislative types and lobsters.

  42. - Arthur Andersen - Monday, May 27, 13 @ 6:33 pm:

    RNUG, will I be jealous?

  43. - RNUG - Monday, May 27, 13 @ 6:35 pm:

    AA,

    maybe

  44. - RNUG - Monday, May 27, 13 @ 7:21 pm:

    Norseman @ 1:58 pm:

I can think of several reasons. If you haven’t done so, just try powering your modem (either cable or DSL) and router off, leave it that way for 5 - 10 minutes, then power back on.

I’ll look for you Wed also.

Just got home, ready for Appropriation Hearing in the morning. My wife once told a friend of hers, when you marry a lobbyist or someone who works in the legislative process you soon understand they don’t recognize Memorial Day as a holiday.
