I think Quinn is doing exactly what he should be doing. It’s Memorial Day Weekend.
For the General Assembly to meet this weekend is just a tad self-important. To meet on Memorial Day is flat-out disrespectful.
This ain’t a Hallmark Holiday. They’ve had plenty of time to get their work done. They could take a day from their typical hurry-up-and-wait, playing-chicken routine to honor the dead.

Well for some reason they didn’t mention that he showed up at the Sox game on Sunday also. While I agree the GA (and us) shouldn’t be holed up in Springfield on Memorial Day, Sunday afternoon would have been a fine time to get some work done. I myself had to give up my Sox tickets for Sunday to slog back down here.
Who cares what Quinn is doing. Can’t wait for him to be ousted. What do we have left - about 18 months? Time to start the campaign against him - rather it be Lisa Madigan or a Republican - hopefully he’ll be history..

That’s leadership.
- Very Old Soil - Monday, May 27, 13 @ 10:24 am:
Is he that afraid of Cullerton and Madigan? Or is it his shadow?
- Very Old Soil - Monday, May 27, 13 @ 10:26 am:
On second thought: maybe he is being very smart in recognizing the high probability that he would just mess up any chance for progress.

Whatever the case, you must watch the video. It’ll clear out your head.

Still smiling. Can’t stop watching. The last minute or so is the best!

Meh, I’m sure Quinn has a cell phone handy.

I expected Quinn to bring Squeezy the Python
- RNUG - Monday, May 27, 13 @ 12:21 pm:
At least Quinn is still consistent on one item, his support for veterans … unless they are also retired state employees.
- Arthur Andersen - Monday, May 27, 13 @ 12:27 pm:
Always pains me to support Gov. Squeezy, but he has his priorities straight here and has my thanks.
Thumbs down to the GA for meeting on Memorial Day.

Now if I knew it was the Governor personally bringing the eagle, I would so try to get to the game tonight…
- walkinfool - Monday, May 27, 13 @ 2:17 pm:
Quinn has always been sincerely good with veterans. He was in the right places this weekend.

The song reminds me of one of my favorite acting performances, R. Lee Ermey at the beginning of Full Metal Jacket.
