    That’s just perfect.

What am I going to wear now to vote?

  2. - Downstater - Tuesday, Mar 18, 14 @ 1:14 pm:

@DAnny Kanner. Goood luck DGA in keeping up with spending by Rauner in the fall.

  3. - Oswego Willy - Tuesday, Mar 18, 14 @ 1:16 pm:

Ooh! The Black Carhartt tails are out early this season.

    “Oberweis/Rauner, Oberweis/Rauner… ”

    Get use to it.

  4. - Oswego Willy - Tuesday, Mar 18, 14 @ 1:18 pm:

“Are those the polling booths for the ‘little people’ or do you have the rich people’s booth away from the riff-raff?”

  5. - Oswego Willy - Tuesday, Mar 18, 14 @ 1:19 pm:

“Four Houses equal 1 Hotel; Nine Houses equal one Bruce Rauner”

  6. - MoWatcher - Tuesday, Mar 18, 14 @ 1:20 pm:

I have to wonder how much of the DGA’s money that’s going to keep a heavily Democratic state’s Democratic governor in office could have gone to states like Ohio, Michigan or Wisconsin. It seems like no matter what happens in November, Illinois will be an unnecessarily drain on the org’s resources.

  7. - Mouthy - Tuesday, Mar 18, 14 @ 1:20 pm:

Must be on his way to Boardwalk….

  8. - carbaby - Tuesday, Mar 18, 14 @ 1:23 pm:

OW- I’m sure you can find something exactly right to put on for the occasion.

  9. - Oswego Willy - Tuesday, Mar 18, 14 @ 1:24 pm:

“What is taking my Valet? I sent him in to vote and talk to those … people 10 minutes ago. Doesn’t he know ‘We’ have polo at the Grounds at a quarter past?”

  10. - Oswego Willy - Tuesday, Mar 18, 14 @ 1:26 pm:

I wore a Carhartt. No joke.

    To remind myself voting matters.

Of course, mine is worn and looks less regal…

  11. - wordslinger - Tuesday, Mar 18, 14 @ 1:29 pm:

Does the design of the sign represent anything, or it just a graphic? I don’t recognize the reference, if there is one.

  12. - Norseman - Tuesday, Mar 18, 14 @ 1:31 pm:

You want to be elected Governor, pay each voter $50.

  13. - Norseman - Tuesday, Mar 18, 14 @ 1:34 pm:

Baron card 2: Receive $2.5 million pension consultancy fee.

  14. - Nearly Normal - Tuesday, Mar 18, 14 @ 1:35 pm:

Go to jail. Go directly to jail. Do not collect $200.00. Lose one turn.

  15. - Norseman - Tuesday, Mar 18, 14 @ 1:36 pm:

Baron card 3: Bank made an error, you get $1 million from public sector retirees.

  16. - Oswego Willy - Tuesday, Mar 18, 14 @ 1:40 pm:

Is it only print , or is there audio of the “No, I’m in the ‘.01%’…”

    Tried the “search” key…

  17. - Arthur Andersen - Tuesday, Mar 18, 14 @ 1:41 pm:

For the record, I did not authorize the use of my likeness in this photograph.

  18. - Jake From Elwood - Tuesday, Mar 18, 14 @ 1:42 pm:

‘Monopoly” is still better than “Sorry” without a doubt.

  19. - PublicServant - Tuesday, Mar 18, 14 @ 1:42 pm:

OW, the .01% let their money do the talking for them, no audio needed.

  20. - Dan Bureaucrat - Tuesday, Mar 18, 14 @ 1:43 pm:

Looks like he uses the $16 watch, not the timepiece in his pocket.

  21. - OneMan - Tuesday, Mar 18, 14 @ 1:44 pm:

Wonder if the GOP did this to Jon Corzine?

  22. - Oswego Willy - Tuesday, Mar 18, 14 @ 1:48 pm:

    - PublicServant -,

    See, what do I know?

    “1,2,3,4,5 seconds, that’s another thousands. 3,4,5… Another thousand ‘earned’…2,3,4,5 another thousand…”

  23. - Johnny Q. Suburban - Tuesday, Mar 18, 14 @ 1:49 pm:

I hope everyone realizes how fascinating it is going to be next fall when Rahm Emmanuel’s mayoral opponents are going to campaign against the Democratic Mayor of Chicago by tying him to the Republican candidate for governor.

  24. - Ahoy! - Tuesday, Mar 18, 14 @ 1:54 pm:

dude needs a real mustache, but other than that, should be a fun campaign.

  25. - Norseman - Tuesday, Mar 18, 14 @ 1:57 pm:

Baron card 1: Seeking Governorship, pay each player $50.

  26. - wordslinger - Tuesday, Mar 18, 14 @ 1:58 pm:

–Wonder if the GOP did this to Jon Corzine?–

I’m sure he got a pass. They just talked issues.

Of course they did. Why wouldn’t they?

Please, Farmer Bruce is bad enough — no Victim Bruce.

Baron card 2: Earn $2.5 million in pension consultancy fee.

  28. - too obvious - Tuesday, Mar 18, 14 @ 1:59 pm:

Love, love, love it! Just needs the monocle and would make a great Mr. Monopoly guy.

Can’t wait for the general. Rauner has had no serious opposition yet and still almost no vetting by this state’s corn cob press.

  29. - that guy - Tuesday, Mar 18, 14 @ 2:00 pm:

Hahahahhahahahhaahahahhahhhaha!!!!! OMG he’s wearing a costume!!!!11!!!1!! You own me a new keyboard!!!1!!!!111 Hahahahhahahahahahahahahahha. He has a silly sign!!!!11!1!1 Hahahhahahahahahhaa. He doesn’t even have to use his monocle to look at his watch!!! Bahahahahahahahaha!!! That is rich indeed. LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL

  30. - Norseman - Tuesday, Mar 18, 14 @ 2:01 pm:

Baron card 3: Bank makes error in your favor, collect $25 million intended for retirees.

  31. - Oswego Willy - Tuesday, Mar 18, 14 @ 2:03 pm:

    - that guy -,

Would you like some water, paper bag… your medicine?

I have some Plummer meds here somewhere…

  32. - Oswego Willy - Tuesday, Mar 18, 14 @ 2:04 pm:

    - Norseman -,

Don’t waste too many, we need to roll out something, sometime, tomorrow.

  33. - OneMan - Tuesday, Mar 18, 14 @ 2:13 pm:

    wordslinger,
Always find it entertaining when it is ok for your guy but not for their guy and vice versa. I know it is the nature of the game but it always cracks me up a bit.

  34. - Cincinnatus - Tuesday, Mar 18, 14 @ 2:15 pm:

Baron card 4: Do not pass go. I collect $200.

  35. - Walter Mitty - Tuesday, Mar 18, 14 @ 2:19 pm:

I like the guy who spends his money…Not ours. Not $55 mil of ours… PQ and class warefare has run it’s course.. That divides us more than anything…Great shtick… But the average November voters are going to need solutions… Start moving left and defining plans Farmer.

  36. - phocion - Tuesday, Mar 18, 14 @ 2:21 pm:

I loves me some William Howard Taft!

  37. - wordslinger - Tuesday, Mar 18, 14 @ 2:25 pm:

–Always find it entertaining when it is ok for your guy but not for their guy and vice versa.–

It just is what it is, no matter who it is. Hardly unexpected or dirty politics.

  38. - Shemp - Tuesday, Mar 18, 14 @ 2:25 pm:

    I chuckled a little inside.

  39. - PublicServant - Tuesday, Mar 18, 14 @ 2:25 pm:

Baron Card 4: Go directly to the poorhouse. Do not collect your pension.

  40. - wordslinger - Tuesday, Mar 18, 14 @ 2:29 pm:

Geez, if “class warfare” is going to be the Raunerbot drinking game, they’re going to need liver transplants before November.

  41. - OneMan - Tuesday, Mar 18, 14 @ 2:30 pm:

    – It just is what it is, no matter who it is. Hardly unexpected or dirty politics. –

Also true… Still find it entertaining. Hell it’s the angle I would work as well. Sounds better than Pat Quinn less hostile to labor than the other guy…

  42. - Johnny Q. Suburban - Tuesday, Mar 18, 14 @ 2:32 pm:

    -One Man

Ding ding ding! Spot on. Pat Quinn: Because wouldn’t you rather he take away your benefits than someone else?

  43. - Walter Mitty - Tuesday, Mar 18, 14 @ 2:35 pm:

Word… I am no Raunerbot..Even supporter… But what do you call this play? It is class warefare.. And it will be tough when PQ used $55 mil of our money last time… Where is the media about that? I am sure they will press Rauner for his concrete plans thankfully… But besides calling PQ a street fighter, maybe $55 mil is a story? Or not…

  44. - olddog - Tuesday, Mar 18, 14 @ 2:38 pm:

=== PQ and class warefare has run it’s course.. ===

I wish that were true … but Rauner has already spent millions of dollars attacking people who work for a living, and he’s not going to stop now.

  45. - wordslinger - Tuesday, Mar 18, 14 @ 2:38 pm:

–And it will be tough when PQ used $55 mil of our money last time… Where is the media about that?–

How did you find out about it — word on the street?

I read about it here, in all the papers, and the a.g. report.

Geez, if you’re implying that the media would go in the tank for Pat Quinn….

  46. - OneMan - Tuesday, Mar 18, 14 @ 2:41 pm:

    Walter…

Showing Rauner as out of touch may be one of his better plays, class warfare or whatever when it comes down to it, Quinn wants to get re-elected and this may be a path to do it.

Because some of the stuff they are tossing at Ruaner in the primary (friend of Rahm, Gave to Democrats, etc) are not as good arguments in the general. If I was the DGA this is the path I would go down. It is the safest early.

  47. - Walter Mitty - Tuesday, Mar 18, 14 @ 2:45 pm:

One Man… Great point… I was just wishing for a ceasefire on the negative for a few weeks.. Yes, I am a dreamer!

  48. - Demoralized - Tuesday, Mar 18, 14 @ 2:52 pm:

This is too funny. Nailed it perfectly.

  49. - VanillaMan - Tuesday, Mar 18, 14 @ 2:53 pm:

The idea that Quinn, who has lived high on the hog for some forty years collecting campaign dollars by the millions, is somehow NOT one of these people is an outstanding farce.

Rauner spends his millions, Quinn spends ours. Rauner lives in a mansion - Quinn lives in our governor’s mansion. Rauner is chauffeured in a limousine he bought. Quinn is chauffeured in a limousine we bought. Both men live a life neither of us can imagine.

Rich guy who earned it - against a rich guy who didn’t.

Please spare me the Monopoly jokes,

  50. - wordslinger - Tuesday, Mar 18, 14 @ 2:56 pm:

VMAn, that’s absolutely hilarious. Yeah, they’re definitely the same guy.

I think Bruce is made of stern enough stuff that he can handle a Monopoly joke.

  51. - Oswego Willy - Tuesday, Mar 18, 14 @ 2:57 pm:

    - VanillaMan -,

I guess you are a Rauner guy now?

That sounds like someone who made a decision, not am analysis.

  52. - Oswego Willy - Tuesday, Mar 18, 14 @ 3:00 pm:

    - VanillaMan-, you, and - A Guy…- need to talk about your “struggles” and “coming to grips” with your “difficult decisions” to support Rauner…

  53. - Wumpus - Tuesday, Mar 18, 14 @ 3:00 pm:

Sir Tophamm Hatt of Thomas the Tank Engine? It must be Chicago as a non citizen is voting.

  54. - naperville soccer mom - Tuesday, Mar 18, 14 @ 3:23 pm:

Baron card #5. Clout your daughter into High School FREE card.

  55. - Cincinnatus - Tuesday, Mar 18, 14 @ 3:41 pm:

    - naperville soccer mom - Tuesday, Mar 18, 14 @ 3:23 pm:

Baron card #5. Clout your daughter into High School FREE card.

    +++++++++++++

Nah, he paid a quarter of a mil for that…

  56. - PoolGuy - Tuesday, Mar 18, 14 @ 3:52 pm:

    Baron card #6: I drink your milkshake. I don’t need your $200.

  57. - Wumpus - Tuesday, Mar 18, 14 @ 4:15 pm:

Will the Rauner people simply state the fact that Pat Quinn stood by silently while Blago did what Blago does?

  58. - Chavez-respecting Obamist - Tuesday, Mar 18, 14 @ 4:45 pm:

What exactly was Pat Quinn supposed to do, Wumpus? The Lite Gov doesn’t have the power to arrest anyone.

  59. - Just The Way It Is One - Tuesday, Mar 18, 14 @ 5:03 pm:

Great shot! Too funny. Something tells me we won’t be seeing the END of Rauner’s Admitted “0.1%” Wealth Status anytime soon, either. And before the votes have even been counted today, looks like the Democrats DID indeed figure out how Brucie was going to be their opponent–and mean business in helping keep Pat Quinn, one of their own, right where he’s at!

I know March 18th’s not even OVer with, and, yet, November 4TH–here we come…!

  60. - Upon Further Review - Tuesday, Mar 18, 14 @ 5:53 pm:

Is that William Howard Taft or the man from the Monopoly game?

  61. - Wumpus - Tuesday, Mar 18, 14 @ 8:18 pm:

C-r-O, say something. Not saying he needs to quit, but he simply raked in the votes along with his bff! Maybe a bit over the top, I am, but it is a campaign.
