I don’t get why the Cubs seem to be running Jeff Samardzija and possibly Starlin Castro out of town. Top 5 in the NL in strikeouts last year…but the future could be bright, with all the minor league hitting prospects and no more money owed to Alfonso Soriano. The Cardinals should be competitive again - a little less hitting depth than they’ve had in the recent past (no Carlos Beltran or David Freese), but still plenty of pitching.
