* Welcome to the last week of the calm before the storm that is the month of May in Springfield.

The master of the house is still away, so this week the blog should be light. We will have a full Morning Shorts and posts tomorrow and Thursday. We might even toss up a few questions and caption contests on Friday.

Regardless, we will still have our trusty ScribbleLive to track breaking news. Of course you can send me materials for consideration by clicking my name at the top of the post.

Enough from me for now. Resume breaking…

Maybe it’s just me, but the Scribble live feed is stuck on April 15th’s news?

  2. - wordslinger - Monday, Apr 21, 14 @ 9:38 am:

    The scribble is old news.

Anyone want to to lay a bet on the first two Blues/Hawks games?

    I’ll still take the Hawks!

  3. - Walter Mitty - Monday, Apr 21, 14 @ 9:39 am:

    Word… Me too!

  4. - Oswego Willy - Monday, Apr 21, 14 @ 9:48 am:

We need the DeLorean to get back to the future…

Maybe we can change the events from April 16th through the 20th?

Just don’t talk to you April 15th self. The consequences will be catastrophic!

  5. - Huh? - Monday, Apr 21, 14 @ 9:50 am:

Ground Hog Day all over again.

  6. - Oswego Willy - Monday, Apr 21, 14 @ 10:09 am:

Boston Marathon going on this morning.

We are all Boston Strong today.

Red Sox are wearing their “Boston” jerseys, some players say they will go to Finish Line after their game.

    Another step in the healing.

  7. - Nonplussed - Monday, Apr 21, 14 @ 10:33 am:

Considering the owner of this site is talking about his AOL email account (he probably got it when he used the CD with 100 hours of free AOL “now comes with the Internet!!!”), a week-old scribble feed feels just about right.

  8. - Wensicia - Monday, Apr 21, 14 @ 10:34 am:

Maybe whoever got to Miller’s e-mail also shut down Zorn’s blog. It’s been out since Saturday.

  9. - Wumpus - Monday, Apr 21, 14 @ 10:39 am:

Barton, good job on the email hack.

Rich, maybe you could send in Peoria SWAT to solve the problem. (Send them to Barton’s residence)

  10. - Walter Mitty - Monday, Apr 21, 14 @ 11:08 am:

OW… Good point… We are all Boston Strong… Even
    Brendan Smith… Whose brother is a Bruin…

  11. - Walter Mitty - Monday, Apr 21, 14 @ 11:10 am:

I feel like this is a great view if Chara was the State and all of us in a retirement system is Smith… Just happy anyone comes to our rescue!

  12. - Oswego Willy - Monday, Apr 21, 14 @ 11:18 am:

    From WCVB.com;

American Runner Meb Keflezighi wins Boston Marathon.

“He moved to the Unites States when he was 12 and became a citizen in 1998 — the same year he graduated from UCLA.”

    American dream? American dream. #BostonStrong

  13. - wordslinger - Monday, Apr 21, 14 @ 11:32 am:

Whatever happens in the series, the next two games are must-see TV.

Hawks have their backs to the wall and will come out on fire tonight. Too many Cups, too many Gold medals, too much pride on that team for it to be any other way.

Hopefully, it won’t play out like this: 1991, Hawks-Blues, St. Patrick’s Day Massacre.

I’m not sure if Dave Manson ia allowed in the United States anymore, lol.

  14. - Barton Lorimor - Monday, Apr 21, 14 @ 11:39 am:

ScribbleLive has been fixed. The feed had shut itself off last week. Sorry it took me so long to fix. My attention was required elsewhere.

  15. - Oswego Willy - Monday, Apr 21, 14 @ 11:39 am:

    - Walter Mitty -,

I saw it. It was surreal to say the least.

This is going to be barn-burner, Hawks-Blues, appointment TV, most definitely. The series has “7 games” written all over it, and the “hero” has to take early lumps and major setbacks to have the ending pay off.

  16. - Walter Mitty - Monday, Apr 21, 14 @ 12:09 pm:

On a serious note, What is the plan for Chicago? It is warm out. I was surprised at the chest thumping in February for the murder rate… I am curious to see what the strategy is going to be….

  17. - Kevin Fanning - Monday, Apr 21, 14 @ 12:14 pm:

Keep up the good work Barton!
