  1. - Knome Sane - Wednesday, Jun 4, 14 @ 10:15 am:

Correction: “Time to get in shape for an inevitable loss for US Senate”.

  2. - Bluefish - Wednesday, Jun 4, 14 @ 10:21 am:

Obviously following the Jim Oberweis strategy.

  3. - Walker - Wednesday, Jun 4, 14 @ 10:24 am:

Next step: a short-term job with a hedge fund biggie in Chicago.

  4. - Black Ivy - Wednesday, Jun 4, 14 @ 10:24 am:

Tio Hardiman may not have a real shot of wiiing any U.S. Senate bid, but he certainly is keeping the spotlight on gun violence in Chicago and for this I am grateful…

  5. - Amalia - Wednesday, Jun 4, 14 @ 10:25 am:

this guy, and his causes, have always been a lot of talk.

  6. - The Prince - Wednesday, Jun 4, 14 @ 10:29 am:

    Stranger things have happened.

  7. - dupage dan - Wednesday, Jun 4, 14 @ 10:31 am:

Here I am jogging thru the cemetery where Burris’ headstone is. I’m gonna check out the dimensions - I believe I will need a bigger one than Roland. #magicalthinking

  8. - Almost the Weekend - Wednesday, Jun 4, 14 @ 10:34 am:

The only thing that is missing is Dan Rutherford in this photo.

  9. - Knome Sane - Wednesday, Jun 4, 14 @ 10:35 am:

    =Stranger things have happened.=

Do pigs fly where you live?

  10. - zatoichi - Wednesday, Jun 4, 14 @ 10:36 am:

The shirt soaked in sweat shows extra hard effort. Cue the Rocky theme.

  11. - Soccermom - Wednesday, Jun 4, 14 @ 10:40 am:

Am I the only one who is really missing Bill right now? :(

  12. - Oswego Willy - Wednesday, Jun 4, 14 @ 10:40 am:

Looking out at the road rushing under my heels
Looking back at the years gone by like so many campaign yields
In one race I got “seventeen” and running up the vote total
I don’t know where I’m running now, I’m just running on

Running on - running on Dopey
    Running on - running blind
Running on - running into the sun
    But I’m “running behind”

Gotta do what you can just to keep “ego” alive
Trying not to confuse it with what you do to survive
The next race I got “twenty-one” and the press called the race over
I don’t know when that road turned onto the road I’m on

Running on - running on Dopey
    Running on - running blind
Running on - running into the sun
    But I’m “running behind”

Everyone I know, everywhere I go
People need some reason to giggle
I don’t know about anyone but me
If it takes all night, that’ll be all right
If I can get you to smile before I leave

Looking out at the road rushing under my heels
I know you know how just how crazy this campaign feels
I look around for the friends that I used to turn to to pull me through
Looking into their eyes I see them run away too

Running on - running on Dopey
    Running on - running blind
Running on - running into the sun
    But I’m “running behind”

    Money, you really tempt me
You know the way you look “so kind”
I’d love to have more but I’m “running behind”
You know I don’t even know why I’m hoping to win
Running into the sun but I’m running again

  13. - Knome Sane - Wednesday, Jun 4, 14 @ 10:43 am:

OW, that may rank as one of this year’s best! Kudos to you!

  14. - Oswego Willy - Wednesday, Jun 4, 14 @ 10:43 am:

@FakeRutherfordDan - All that is missing is the tread mill, a Bruce Willis movie and a Scheduled Friday Press Flop #SeenThisMovieBefore

  15. - The Prince - Wednesday, Jun 4, 14 @ 10:43 am:

Knome: No. But they like GEICO for some reason. However, this is Illinois, and there have been some unusual nominees for various offices in varying circumstances and situations.

  16. - Oswego Willy - Wednesday, Jun 4, 14 @ 10:46 am:

(Tips cap to - Knome Sane -, thanks)

    “Caption?”

“Take this quick, I can’t hold this pose much longer!”

  17. - Stones - Wednesday, Jun 4, 14 @ 10:55 am:

If he’s actually running in that shot that’s not much of a stride. My guess it was staged.

  18. - Ron Burgundy - Wednesday, Jun 4, 14 @ 10:56 am:

“Tio Hardiman, MA, where the MA stands for Misses Attention”

As an aside, listing degrees after someone else’s name is OK as a show of respect/courtesy. Listing them (or something like Esq. for lawyers) after your own name screams I have a huge ego.

  19. - Jake From Elwood - Wednesday, Jun 4, 14 @ 11:04 am:

    With apologies to Duran Duran…
His name is Tio and his campaign’s stuck in sand.
Just like that Plummer dreamin’ out in lumber land.
And now he’s running for attention..that’s his plan.
Oh Tio, Tio, your ambitions are too grand.

  20. - siriusly - Wednesday, Jun 4, 14 @ 11:06 am:

    who?

I had more interest in “cut the taxes” than I do in this clown.

  21. - 47th Ward - Wednesday, Jun 4, 14 @ 11:22 am:

The next Senator from the great state of delusion.

  22. - John Boch - Wednesday, Jun 4, 14 @ 11:34 am:

Keeping himself out of handcuffs for a couple of more years might be more helpful to his campaign than pretending he’s jogging.

    John

  23. - Oswego Willy - Wednesday, Jun 4, 14 @ 11:35 am:

“We had one without a shirt and running shorts, but are goal is to peak people’s interests, not get mocked. We chose well.”

  24. - Oswego Willy - Wednesday, Jun 4, 14 @ 11:38 am:

@FakeTioHardiman - my own triathlon; arrest, run, run! #JoggingOrYoggingTheJMayBeSilent

  25. - Wumpus - Wednesday, Jun 4, 14 @ 11:39 am:

Running from the police or for senate both take stamina

  26. - MrGrassroots - Wednesday, Jun 4, 14 @ 12:50 pm:

Does jogging help win elections? Or is he just running on empty.

  27. - John Culpepper - Wednesday, Jun 4, 14 @ 12:52 pm:

Faster, Tio, faster! Don’t look back over your shoulder because Jessie Jackson Junior is starting to catch up to you. Jessie (I’m back) Jackson Junior will be looking to organize his core Chicago supporters in about 3 months for his next foray into Illinois politics.

  28. - Anonymous - Wednesday, Jun 4, 14 @ 3:00 pm:

Wow. If this is his idea of running, I wonder what his idea of ’slacking off’ is……his shadow’s even embarrassed.

  29. - Robert the Bruce - Wednesday, Jun 4, 14 @ 3:18 pm:

Tio should be exercising his phone dialing fingers instead if he wants enough money to be relevant.

  30. - Anonymous - Wednesday, Jun 4, 14 @ 4:24 pm:

U put your left foot in, u put your left foot back come on Tio u know the rest!

  31. - A guy... - Wednesday, Jun 4, 14 @ 5:16 pm:

Sorry I’m late friends, very busy day!
    Caption:

You have no idea how f*^%$g golden a Senate seat is.

  32. - Streator Curmudgeon - Wednesday, Jun 4, 14 @ 8:23 pm:

“Squeezy, throw another bucket of water on me. I don’t look sweaty enough!”

  33. - Just The Way It Is One - Wednesday, Jun 4, 14 @ 9:06 pm:

Chuckle, chuckle…operative term here from Tio: “possible.” Yet if possible becomes reALity for him, astonishingly, it likewise morphs into IMpossible instantaneously…!

  34. - Madison - Thursday, Jun 5, 14 @ 9:42 am:

I’m try’in to catch that spaceship.
Gonna miss it if I don’t hurry!

  35. - A guy... - Thursday, Jun 5, 14 @ 11:05 am:

If I lose 3 consecutive races, I can change my my name to ‘Trio’ Hardiman.

  36. - Dope - Thursday, Jun 5, 14 @ 4:24 pm:

    My name says it all!
