Thursday, Sep 25, 2014 - Posted by Rich Miller * OK, let’s try this again. The last video didn’t work properly and I had to take the post down. Gov. Pat Quinn answered reporters’ questions today. He was repeatedly asked about Bruce Rauner’s Harold Washington TV ad, but did his best to turn it back on Rauner, calling it a “diversion” from Rauner’s nursing home scandal. He talked about other subjects as well. It’s definitely worth a listen…

You knew it was a Governor Quinn reply when you saw the time runs over 8 minutes.
To the post, these two are now parroting each other in their answers. His non-answers are just as polished as Mr. Rauner’s, and the “diversions and distractions” non-reply sums up this election.

The late, great Mayor Harold Washington’s words are still haunting to this day. I wonder what tactics Governor Quinn has in store to shore up Black votes on the South and West Sides of Chicago and greater Cook County suburbs this time around. #enoughalready

Somebody better send the memo to the Ford family in Detroit.
It wasn’t Allan Mullaly that straightened out ford it was Pat Quinn.
I went down there and worked with ford and now they have 3 shifts working. Wow did I ever sell this guy short.

It sounds like he says he supports marijuana decrim but not the harder stuff? The question was a bit muffled.

FKA: He supports the idea of giving a ticket and not filling the prisons with non-violent drug offenders. Not for decriminalization.

It would largely depend upon the library of the place. Harold was a voracious reader, often 6 books on a weekend. And the food. Harold loved the kind of food these places generally don’t have. Somehow, I think he’d find a way to get some sneaked into him. And he’d laugh that soulful, wonderful laugh of his.
I’m sure I didn’t answer this question to your satisfaction. But, Harold made every place he was…better.

Sadly, no one goes to a nursing home to “live” they go there to die. That is a choice some families are forced to make.
Rauner had no role in the operations of the nursing homes in Florida and as far as I know those facilities were never cited by state or federal regulators for the kind of pervasive made up problems dopey old Pat Quinn has memorized for press occasions like this. This is a trial lawyer made up case that Quinn has used to try to smear Rauner. I hope it doesn’t work.

AA is also impressed that PQ was the one who convinced Ford to start building more competitive and reliable products. If I wasn’t a GM guy, I might vote for him. Ha.

Before commenting on nursing homes, please take the time to learn the difference between a “nursing home” and a “hospice”.

And then, somehow Rauner, as owner, is an innocent bystander being victimized by Quinn in all these lawsuits.

The other “news” for tomorrow is Raymond Poe filing HB6301 to facilitate the refund of the retiree health insurance premiums. It was apparently filed a week ago and picked up a co-sponsor a day or two ago. Today Poe started to publicize it on his web site. It may not be final bill for the refunds but it looks like it would get the job done.
