Manar: But I can’t help but wonder if Lincoln would attend Republican events if he were alive today. I’m confident he’d be a Democrat.
I don’t like hearing politicians resurrect beloved political figures and put words into their mouths and inject them into today’s issues. Doing this turns them into political fodder at a time when we should continue recognizing them for their achievements.
“Rest in Peace” should mean something, even if the deceased was a political figure.
Let our famous dead remain so. They are not convenient zombies to be your political spokesmen.
We’re stupid he said. We have stupid people leading us. I choosr to interpret that as applying only to the crowd at the convention center. It may be the most honest thing he has ever said. /s
“RepKenDunkin aims to sabotage House Speaker Michael Madigan’s plans - again.” Dunkin is not only stabbing Madigan in the back, he is stabbing all of the Democrats in the back. I would call Dunkin’s actions insubordination.
NIU’s new Board of Trustees appointment by Gov. Rauner to replace Judge Iosco was not properly vetted. He is Tim Struthers of First National Bank of Omaha - Illinois based in DeKalb. I believe the vote to approve the appointment is in front of the Senate today. He has significant conflicts of interest. He serves on the DeKalb Sanitary District and the Board of the NIU Foundation. He also has been involved in development plans jointly with the University Administration
” Dunkin is not only stabbing Madigan in the back, he is stabbing all of the Democrats in the back. ” Actually Dunkin is stabbing the backs of the children of this state.
If I were in his district, I would run against Duncan. Today alone would’ve given me enough fodder for a half-dozen campaign commercials and mailers. I especially love the picture of him texting at his desk during the childcare veto override vote.

Rich is this a new software/platform for the live feed? It no longer comes through. I used to be able to see it.

@Honeybear,
You’ve probably already figured this out, but (just in case you find it helpful in any way) you can click on the ScribbleLive link at the end of Rich’s post and it will take you to the feed.

Thanks #5 I clicked on it but it didn’t come up. It’s an ancient computer so I think I’m just out of luck. I’ll try to do it on the phone.

Thanks for this feed. I couldn’t be there today due to a sick kid. This helped.

“Governor, if you’re listening, I’d ask you to implement your emergency rule today”
DHS actually did it yesterday.

@CCP Hostage - may your kid get better quickly.
To the post - If calling 570 is Madigan’s refusal in response to Rauner’s offering from yesterday, we should just pack up until January. No headway.
Especially not with Rauner offering a semi-forced open hand, Madigan apparently rebuffing it, and Rauner coming out ahead again on the roll call.
The downward spiral rages on. smh
