I have never been one to pray for political action, but I’m praying today.

I saw Rep Ammons post, still promoting SB 231. Possibly she is not aware the Manar bill not under discussion with Governor Raner as any part of the K-12 budget fix nor do many Democrats sitting around her on the floor support it, what universe is the Rep operating in?

Rich you just wrote: “Legislature would mandate property tax increase for CPS (a bill that’s sitting in the Senate)” is that the separate property tax going to the CPS pension fund as it used to be or is that a bill authorizing CPS to tax above the PTELL?

This is the quote of the day:
“Illinois budget (shell?) bill chased away from outside governor’s office where leaders are meeting. Hmm…”
Shouldn’t they allow Budget Billy come inside the governor’s office for the budget meeting?
- Mama - Wednesday, Jun 29, 16 @ 3:23 pm:
Can anyone tell me why the governor did not call a leadership meeting a month ago to hammer out a deal? What changed that allowed the leadership meeting to go forth now?
- Christopher - Wednesday, Jun 29, 16 @ 4:06 pm:
I think many people were watching the clock tick away plus many newspapers printed that “Enough” headline.
- Johnny's in the Basement - Wednesday, Jun 29, 16 @ 10:41 pm:

- Myronjax - Wednesday, Jun 29, 16 @ 11:57 pm:
Oh Boy ! Christmas in July. Another “stopgap” budget. This is not acceptable. Those newspapers should keep demanding a FULL BUDGET…or will we always have temporary 6 month budgets from here on out-the new wave in politic-ing…smh

Since supposedly both the House and Senate will vote on this fix today, some bill numbers would be nice. But I suppose even at 8am they may not have yet been filed. Best to vote on the bills based on the reference bureau summary anyway, it’s a lot easier than trying to read all that stuff.
